the problem with bringing in I.D cards is that the people who don't want them i.e most of the undoctrinated will be pushed underground making them more likely to become terrorist or activist.

Sadly, none of this stuff is new, we've always knocked up those who pose a threat to the powers that be when we felt like it. Weather it was Mosely's Fascists, Communists, pacifists, Chartists, women suffrage advocates or trade unionists, British Parliament has always come up with something to put them down. George Orwell was British after all......
