  • very nice phrasing, refreshing to hear someone playing a bit more "out of the box".

  • sry matsaballmonday but dont believe you. 3-4 months my ass. even if u can play it, ill bet it doesnt sound shit like this guy.

  • yeah this is assome keep on playing im a beginner

but i want to play just like this

    very nice dude

    greatz from holland

  • if u practice u will be able to play like this in about, idk 3-4 months thats about how long iv been playng and i can do his ;}

  • well of course.

this is a fairly simple jam.

if you know your pentatonic modes you can nail this.

and pentatonic does not take that long to learn.

  • I didnt realize that music is only every to be judged on it's technical complexity!! Best you never take a listen to any john lee hooker ;)

  • Anyone can learn patterns, yes this is true, but this guy has a really nice feel in my opinion. I always find it funny when people say blues is simple. You should post an appropriate response of yourself playing if you are making that comment. Great playing.

  • Shine on!

  • haha 4sure

  • i can strip tease to this one, mmm... sexy....

  • very cool man. i have that backing track too, i will have to mess around with it. great playing

  • Hi sam, glad you and you mate liked the clip. :) cheers

  • wow, brilliant playing man, and thats not just cos ure my friends uncle!

  • Great job man! I like how you put the blues and minor scales together(even though the blues scale is kind of minor anyway) It sounds great, I love the sound

  • Very inspiring. Loved the minor blues backing track for your inspired playing. Very soulful. Glad our friend Jimmy Lloyd Rea sent me your video.

  • great playing !! also, good sound -i need to jam with that track !!

  • very nice man! i'd like to be able to play that smooth some day

  • what pedals are you using?

    nice job!very good

  • Very Nice!

  • Hey, great playin'!! Is this "If Heartaches Were Nickels" from Joe Bonamassa? I love Joe B.!!! :)

  • Hi shellbblue, I havent ever heard Joe Bonamassa, this was just a jam over a backing track i've had kicking around for years. Thanks alot for wathching my vid, and i will be sure to check out some JB soon.

  • sixstringsdown you absolutely must listen to some Joe Bonamassa! You are sure to love his style! Cheers!

  • very sweet, you are good dude, you need to come to Texas and play, we love the slow blues (I'm seeing Kim Simmons tomorrow night)keep 'em coming

  • I'd love to come to texas, but being both poor and from the UK, some what limits my options. Thanks alot for watching brianf3ch :)

  • really nice playing... i love watching vids where people are natural... playing with feeling... rather than shredding to show off just coz its on the web... by the way what backing track did you use? is it available anywhere?

  • Dude, you are some player.......love this tune....have to save this and subcribe to you !

  • Great stuff Si... Do you knock out any Doyall Bramhall and Hendrix stuff?

  • Mate your one of the best ive seen ever, this solo is one of the greatest ive ever seen.

  • Awesome.

Fantastic phrasing, hardly believe it's improvised.

  • Thanks alot kungfucolin. It is all improvised, bearing in mind i'm 35 and have been playing for over 20yrs! cheers :)

  • that is some of the best playin i have seen ,lovely ,loads of feelin!

  • Thanks alot TEXMEXY :)

  • I would say that was pretty good. Have you heard of a technique called "shovels"?

  • Cant say that i have!! Dug a few holes with one though :)

  • EXELENT

  • Very soulful!I love it!I wish you all the best&keep that spirit going on,take care, jesse

  • man thats great...you shouldnt hide behind the distortion though...if you put it in clean...its just alot more soulful in my opinion...but man this is great keep it goin

  • Thanks for watching Ryan. I dont use alot of overdrive at all really, the problem is that it was just done with a video cameras crappy mic so there is some distortion in the overall sound quality. Cheers :)

  • Great guitar work here Simon, 5 stars mate!!

  • Thanks alot davie!!! :)

  • very very nice tone and feel!!!

    keep posting video.

  • Cheers zoomex i appreciate it :)

  • great phrasing, kinda reminds me of david gilmour when he plays the blues, very good phrasing. And as we all know, phrasing is the KEY to great guitar playing.

  • Cheers motokev, the backing track was a blues in the style of pink floyd type thing. I didnt really consciously try to reference gilmour in my playing, just try to play like me, but i have listened to my fair share of pink floyd over the years, and gilmours guitar style is ace :)

    Thanks for watching

  • Normally I have no time for people who put clips like this on youtube, butI have to say, having watched a couple of yours, that you have something special about your playing. Do you play in a band? You should do - I'm a drummer and I could happily work with a guitarist like that.

  • Thanks alot johngill, i have been in a couple of bands, but nothing at the mo :( i am always up for jam :)

  • Love the tone.

  • Thanks :)

  • nice job, great feeling in your playing

  • thanks for watching rdyQ :)
