One of the simplest things that I've done and would reccomend was going vegan which helps many causes from animal rights, to the pollution of the environment, to decreasing consumption of food/land, and beyond.
I think that's a splendid idea. I believe if more than 1 person gives ideas we can change the world inch by inch. They say variety is the spice of life!!!

Don't try to be like anyone else, but yourself! Go Green! Smile at strangers!
One Thing I think We should all do- Buy Tote bags and always take them to the supermarket or wherever we go to shop, this way we don't use the plastic bags, and the end factor is that we end up helping the environment
Another- EDUCATE OURSELVES! Find out about darfur, the specifics of the war. Change starts with learning =)
When paying for gasoline leave 1.00 left of gas for the person behind you. Just a simple jester of helping your fellow neighbor through the hard times .
