Lets get real folks. Mankind developed that pond. There was never a pond or wetland there before man dug a real big hole. The fill was used to cap the old ancaster landfill site, the hole was excavated about four years ago. Why is it that creating fish habitat where non naturally exists is a good thing, but when fish die because the pond containts fire contaminated runnoff it's a bad thing?
Also - we are not even sure as it has not been proven that the fish died from the storm water from the fire. There is a lot of water that ends up in here.
This company takes very good care of how they handle their hazardous materials. One of the unfortunate things about tragedies like this is the environment takes the hit - which we all depend on. Man does have a incessant need to develop and develop more- but we have a incessant need to consume and consume. Again- this company was a very responsible about how they handled things. It could have been way worse.
