Hi, i need help: My gary finch don't sing like yours , its sing 'chick chick' and never sing for 'long nor stop notes like yours' how to train it. 2) how to know its 'male or female' ? i worry mine is 'female'? but my bird shop owner said it 'male' and 'sing well. Now its with me about 4days only. Pls help , thanks
hi, at the time i posted this video he was only 2 months young, now he is just over a year. sings like a pro now. yes you can sun him in d mornings before 11.00am for 5 to 10 mins will do, d afternoon sun is not good for all of us.

You can buy Egg Biscut from a good bird shop, or you can make a perfect hard-boied egg yourself.Start with cold water, bring to a boil & allow to slow boil for ten mins.Allow the eggs to cool in cold water & peel the shell off.Use a fork to mash the yoke & white, you only need two tea spoons to feed your bird.Please do not leave the freshly made Egg food in the food hopper for more then two hours. Yes my Grey sings almost the whole day. I know yours will too, just give him some time.

The bird shop owner said the reddish seeds will do, but i think the finch mix may be a better idea, tried giving it fresh eggs but it does not seem too interested. Yes thanks for the advice to enhance the water, it has started singing! But do we have to keep doing it? Also I bot local singapore lettuce any issues with that?
i heard people say thats greens give their birds diarrhe, this is because tey give it just once in a while . the bird is so hungry for it he eats too much, just as a child will make himself sick on candy if given free rein.If the birds has his greens everyday he will adjust himself to the amount he needs. give him small amounts first. i give my birds greens everyday,i promise you, at the end you will have a healthy & happy bird, who will sing sweet song for you everyday,
Try not to give him local salad will give him weak legs.keep feeding egg food eventuality he will like the taste.I put a little brown sugar or bee pollen & Soy powder in my egg biscut for added supplement.I give my birds Egg food 2 or 3 times a week on a separate hopper, give them in the mornings clear at the end of the day.Yes you can stop giving him the honey & lemon. it`s good news that he has started singing. An assortment of greens daily, romain lettuce, carrot tops, broccoli & cucumber in small amounts first.Too much red millet is not good,very heaty. A peace of good cuttle bone will be good, it furnishes minerals & keep his beak in good condition.Bird grit with crush Oster Shells every day to help digest, put in a separate hopper.

Hi,great to hear that u hv bot a grey finch. First,his water vessel put half a teaspoon of honey mixed with half a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. Giv for 2days. Also give him a lot of romaine lettuce but pls start off with one small lettuce leaf for the first 2 weeks. Give a lot of peace & quiet, leave alone for the first week (unless cleaning cage). Normally yr finch should sing after the 2nd day when you bring home. Pls do not buy any song booster, it will not help yr finch.
For song booster, buy gd British finch mix seeds of small canary seeds, leen seeds, red & white millet, niger & thistle. Pls remember to gv egg biscuit or egg food. I hope this will help yr finch.
Your Gray Singing Finch is another good songster (though I find the Green Singing Finch to be more melodious), great that it's housed in such a nice large cage too!

I love him, and there is a chance buy a couple.

hi , yes if you like you can put him in a small cage but once a week give him some excersise in a flight cage.

i give him a small piece of about 4 cm by 4cm a day, is that enough? Am worried he will get diarrhea if he gets too much greens.
Can I ask where to buy egg biscuits or egg food?
