These songs are actually good. I'm not kidding. I actually like listening to them for more than nostalgic purposes.

I was actually surprised at the effort that went into making these songs. I grew up with the blips in the cartoon, but only within the last year heard the full length versions. These are awesome songs. The new songs are well written, and the covers are fantastic. All 12 songs are perfomed superbly by Sharon Lewis. The hardest part about watching the cartoon was how Blue Jean Boy was cut off. I always thought, even as a kid, that this was a horrible butcher job.

I also thought that Blue Jean Boy was a cover, so for years I looked for the "original". It was only after I bought the album(yes, there was an actually released album. I think that both a record and a cassette were made), that I discovered IT was the original song. I was a little worried about how the full length version would be, but was absolutely blown away. It's too bad Mattel doesn't re-release this album. Disney has already gotten on the "obscure albums in to mp3s" bandwagon;

INTO mp3s" bandwagon; the 90s Barbie album is already available this way; and with all the hoopla surrounding Barbie's 50th, you'd think that this album(which is the Beatles to the Monkees that the 90s album is)might have been given some notice. The doll was even picked to be re-released as the representative of the 80s. I still hope that Mattel will come through, eventually. A new generation of girls desreves to hear this music.

I agree the album should definitely be re released. I was aware of the Barbie and the Rockers movie. But I was not aware of the soundtrack album to the movie. Thanks for posting it. However, I am familiar with the Barbie and the Rockers cassette tape that comes with the doll. But the songs on this cassette are different (all originals) and they are not sung and composed as well in my opinion. The only song that is the same is the title song....."Barbie and the rockers".

I"m very excited about the Barbie and the Rockers doll release!!!! Those were my first barbies. Those Barbies are the most novel and creative barbies Mattel has ever made in my opinion. Two years ago I remember showing clips from the movie to my professor and classmates. They were so impressed even the men in the class. You know a lot of people are not familiar with the doll.

Also about Sharon Lewis. Was she apart of the 80's band polka? If so she has a myspace page. Well anyways she has a great voice.

I don't think it's the same girl. I'm pretty sure this Sharon Lewis is a voice actress, or at least was one. I've seen her credited for both Barbie and The Raccoons. Don't qoute me on that, though. My source is the internet, and we all know how that's always 110% accurate.
