I'm 22 years old (so far removed from Beatlemania). But my Dad (who wasn't too far removed) loved the Beatles enough to pass on they're beautiful music to me and my sister, with Sgt. Peppers, Abbey Road, The White Album and Revolver on repeat in the house and the car. Having said that, and despite the fact that I belong to another (tragic) generation of music, I am confident I wouldn't be able to handle myself if I heard any of these songs performed live.

This song is from the Quarrymen. At that time, Paul wasn't the bassist, it used to be Stuart Sutcliff. And he used to play back to the audience because he couldn't play very well... And the bassist at the beginning of this video is back to the audience... I want to think it's not a coincidence :)

At the beginning you hear the drums speeding up as Abe pushes the song a tad too fast for my liking. I spent about an hour in that house at 20 Forthlin Rd. last year as part of the National Trust Tour. it was unbelieveable to sit there in the living room and go through Paul's former home room by room and the back yard area. I highly recommend it if you ever go to Liverpool!
