Its a 99.5, at the time all I had was an HTT 66mm turbo and some full cut DV's, Dynoed 585.........Then was torn down a few months later for the full engine build because of the 53 Block.......
Can't remember what year truck it was, but it was a 24V with a PPump conversion on it, that was at the time of this vid, a DD/2.6 puller. The truck was sold a while ago, and is now turning into a dedicated 2.6 puller now.

Oh good god, all that smoke is caused by unburnt diesel. Get the ECU and fuelling problem fixed and the performance will be vastly improved. An efficient and fast diesel will not smoke as all the fuel, the maximum that can be used for maximum power is being used. An exhaust poking out of the bonnet is a bit of a strange idea.

umm no dude the only diesels that have emissions equipment that reduce smoke are the 07+ diesels.... the 6.4 PSD, LMM Dmax, and 6.7 cummins
the smoke is just a result of more fuel than air being put into the engine. usually happens when you stab the throttle and the turbo hasnt spooled up yet. its normal for a diesel to put out some smoke in situations like that, but i think that under full boost, only a haze should be comin out. because you can always lug it down if you want smoke

its not a truck thing its a diesel thing..the emissions on a diesel are cleaner than the emissions on a gas first off and second the smoke is fuel and is to heavy to rise to the atmosphere so it falls to the earth and gets washed back to the soil that made it

All you need to do now is fix the over-fuelling prblem causing the black smoke. You are wasting diesel, reducing power and sooting up the manifold, EGR, turbo and DPF if you have one. You are injecting far too much diesel, so it is burning in the exhaust which is a waste, Reduce diesel injection and you will get far more power - it's only people who know nothing about engines that have back smoke. complete idiots!

Ha no ok i have to admit stacks are not exactly for performance. But the best upgrade for my 97 ford powerstroke is the downpipe. Stock, it looks like a squashed snake. So i upgraded my trucks performance by putting in a 3.5" downpipe so the engine could breath alottt more. And im getting better gas mileage to.
Ricers try to make there vehicle look better, if you saw my truck, it is 100% for utility, not the cute factor.

Actually in oregon it varies..
Like i live out of the DEQ in oregon and the DMV doesnt check emissions on our vehicles.
I have a straight exhaust with no cat on my camaro and truck
But in town you have to have all the emission stuff for your car.

wait till the turbo spools up then all the smoke is pretty much gone, if you were not putting so much fuel in there the truck would have no balls once it spools up.

The guy obviously knows what hes doing if he has a hood stack....probly a pulling truck. All he is doing is getting all the power possible out of his truck by sending more fuel into the engine. I dont consider myself a redneck and i drive a 97 ford f350 powerstroke with dual exhaust stacks blowin bellows of black smoke everyday when i pull into school.
And i sure as hell know that my truck is not an equivalent to the damn ricers at my school. We look at performance and then looks. Not the other way around like ricer boys.

Ha no ok i have to admit stacks are not exactly for performance. But the best upgrade for my 97 ford powerstroke is the downpipe. Stock, it looks like a squashed snake. So i upgraded my trucks performance by putting in a 3.5" downpipe so the engine could breath alottt more. And im getting better gas mileage to.
Ricers try to make there vehicle look better, if you saw my truck, it is 100% for utility, not the cute factor.
What are jap imports good for? there meant for mileage not versatility.
