  • Vinnie Colaiuta is a brilliant drummer.

  • Vinnie.........DRUMTASTIC!

  • I fucking love that cigarette.

  • The bass line rocks, another awesome sting song

  • @samuel588 this song rocks & stings bass sounds so damn sexy...it makes me sing & move

  • It is cool isnt it

  • Vinnie, where's 21?

  • hey vinnie, wheres five??

  • why is his shirt off?

  • cause he`s a billy bad ass

  • @higherness does that bother you?

  • Sting e' Superman

  • The Roy Wood version just crushes this piece of crap.

  • Then lets have some hard evidence to back up your eloquent observations

  • @robmanic44: Never a version of an original music suprases an original!! ( maybe except gary jules - Mad World)

  • @robmanic44 Shut your ass, punk

  • Roy woods version is shit. Not only that its a different song mate.

  • @robmanic44 "The Roy Wood version"? It's not the same song. They just happen to have the same title. Lame comment.

  • @robmanic44 u r a piece of crap...

  • @robmanic44 Roy wood? never heard of him.

  • sinal it naglaad..pakshet!!!!

  • I completely agree with Plato. I once recorded the concert on a cassettedeck when it once was broadcasted in Holland. I've been playing it every day during two years period on the Walkman I had. I still know a lot of details.. David was thrilling to listen to, a very, very talented guy on the right spot. He also makes it something special... generally speaking, this band also rocked. Something that I miss from Sting's music all those years after this tour. Too intelligent and unraw..

  • Great shuffle and orchestration!!

  • Cool walking bassline :)

  • Let's not forget "poor" David Sancious...what a brilliant musical player...

While everyone probably is looking at Vinnie's supernatural drumming, he (D.S.) gives the total band some special character that imho even kenny couldn't give. I mean Ten Summoners Tales is something special right?

  • Sting with Dom , David and Vinnie this year!!!!!!

ON may , with the Chicago orchestra!

  • Hello!

I have question to thedrumdoctor. Do you have these fragments of concert in Oslo when Sting is singing "Nothing 'Bout Me" and "Seven Days"? I will be grateful if you put this pieces on You Tube. My best regards :)

  • I'll see what I can do....

  • Check out my latest uploaded vids especially for you!!!

  • Why oh why this concert didnt get released on DVD. I saw this tour at the Royal Albert Hall, London. Vinnie blew us away. In fact the entire gig was perfect. Considering Sting has used some top drummers in his time, how could anyone top Stewart Copeland or Omar Hakim, and then Sting managers to get Vinnie involved. Pure class. What an amazing drummer. What a brilliant gig. Thanks for posting.

  • Yeah, you are absolutly right: to go to a concert just because you like a musician, it's not a good idea :) I'd have loved to see him with sting too! I love sting's music...one of the best "pop" artist ever.

  • Totally agree!

  • What you said is just the reason why I really admire Vinnie: he recorded hundreds and hundreds of album in very different genres music and, each time, he gave to each song he recorded something unique and tasteful. Many drummers played beautiful things in their favourite genre. When I hear vinnie in a jazz tune or in a pop one, I always notice that his style is always in "harmony" with the music but , at the same time, extremely original and creative like no one else.

  • Yeah, his playing in the medium of the song is top of the tree. I saw him not so long ago with Jeff Beck and didn't enjoy the gig at all, simply because, I didn't enjoy the music which was a shame. Going to to a gig JUST because one of your favourite drummers is in the drum seat isn't really the best idea, which I found to my cost! I would have loved to have seen Vinnie live with Sting or Joni Mitchell though.

  • impossible to emulate vinnie...he's god on drums

  • One of many Gods

  • yeah of course but, imho is more "god" than others ^_^

  • I know how you feel, that's exactly how I used to feel about him back in about 1994

  • So tell me what's your favourite one? In term of style I mean.

  • I don't have a favourite one any more. I admire many drummers these days more for what they bring to a song as a musician rather than individual drumming style. I'm afraid my days of being wowed by drumming showmanship can only be revisited by looking over my shoulder into the ever increasing distant past...

  • Agree...

The Drummers liberary got so big,

it's just fun to be part of it,

look around and see each there style...

So many good drummers in each style these days..

  • At the end of the day, we should play for the musicians we give our supporting role to, not for ourselves. That is of course, if we want to keep working >;-)

  • seen this complete show a billion times, ever notice somewhere kinda in the middle of the song where vinnie starts alternating hands for the backbeat, making it kind of a "paradiddleshuffesticking" you cant hear it, only se it...that is a VERY hard thing to do flawless without any kind of change in sound and feel...try it out;)

  • Could you please upload the rest of the concert?

  • If I had a spare free 6 months, then yes!

  • Impresionante.......Muy buen video
