Richard O'Barry, don't youever fxckin step in Japanese territory you lifeless piece of shit! Hope you have the dolphine nose stuck up your ass and swim off to deep sea! Learn to respect other country culture.
@corkylover08 this is the stupid idea that people get from keeping whales in captivity. some idiots think this is okay. no captive cetacean park is okay. is only leads to more and more dolphin abuse.

well 250 000 dophins slaughtered every year, i figure its soon be the humans time to die to natures great compromise, there has to be balance natures way.
I've written about this sad and cruel story in Japanese with this video to let Japanese people know the truth and of course it is dedicated to her, Cheryl. I'll never forget you, Cheryl. I feel that your sprit is always with us when we think about you with love. Love from France!
Thank you for posting this story/video... it's a shocking and sad story but it needs to be told. It is so unfortunate that Waterworld and hundreds of places like it are still open for business around the world!
Cheryl was captured and used by people for years - the last thing on Earth she deserved was to be stuck in a dumpy circus show for the rest of her life!! She should have been freed.. she COULD have been freed if someone didn't steal her from Ric O'Barry and put her back in captivity!
He bought her originally so he lost money and then she was stolen from him for 4+ years! He spent so much money flying around to find her. When he did find her, he wanted to free her to her family in Russia! Cheryl died because of the terrible conditions at Waterland. They lied and covered up her death - she lived a horrible life, that no one deserves! It was like a prison for dolphins!
I have been in the movement to help marine mammals in captivity for more than a decade. No offense, but I do think I know what I am talking about here. It is scientifically proven by the Humane Society, Orca Network, Animal Rights Foundation of Florida, World Society for the Protection of Animals and many other groups that dolphins live shorter lives in captivity than in the wild. Captive dolphins are also exposed to much more stress.
Have you ever worked with dolphins or been to Waterland?
so when you see dolphins jump around in a pool, you learn how to take care of a dolphin? you should zap from MTV to animal planet for once, THAT'S where you learn! or maybe go on a whale watching boat! that's learning for ya!
This tragedy is a typical example of lying, greedy humans abusing their fellow animals for money, without thought or care of the actual animals who make them rich. I will not rest, I will not give up, I will not stop fighting this greed and exploitation until either it stops or I cannot fight any more.
And please everyone, spread the word that circuses and waterparks of any kind set the worst example possible for children: that it's ok to use fellow animals for cheap "entertainment". Thank you.
Rick, I admire you so much, for your compassion and hard work to bring a human voice to those like Cheryl who need us, you are a role model and my hero!
April 16, 2008 - The Yangtze River porpoise, the only freshwater finless porpoise in existence, is in danger of becoming extinct. A study published in Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry has found concentrations of man-made chemicals in tissue samples from the endangered mammal which may be the cause of an encroaching extinction.
Richard O'barry...thankyou for your compassion and dedication..it is so important to help these poor abused dolphins...the whole world abuses them, its just disgusting how they are treated...For your excellent work, i Wish you the very best...Justice for Cheryl xx
