OBVIOUSLY, I DID read what you wrote, but having the harp 'professionally tuned' is different than sending it away to be "professionally" set up. "Professional" tuning is not necessary, but 'professional custom set up" is different, and as you have learned, any new harp sounds MUCH better once it is "professionally" set up(string action, etc.). Tuning an autoharp is not hard at all, but when they are factory fresh, they go out of tune after playing one song.
To rrdoran, I don't know where you get your information, but a chromatic tuner cost about $15.00 here in NJ, and the autoharp, which goes out of tune when you LOOK at it, is not difficult to tune. Just make sure your tuner is calibrated to 440. Anyone who wants to pay $100 for a tuning can contact ME. I'll be happy to do it every time your 'harp goes out of tune, which, if it's a new 'harp will be almost immediately. New strings need to stretch and set, so to speak.
You obviously didn't read what I said very well because I was referring to the cost of getting the autoharp professionally tuned NOT the cost of a tuner.
Its okay, but you need to work on your sense of rhythm. Also, try working some single-note stuff into the strumming, or else overdub some kind of solo (especially if you play an instrument that's good for solos, like a clarinet for instance.)
I just realized that hardly anyone leaves negative comments about musical performances on youtube (except for the guitar ones). Kind of like how in an acting class I took, everyone's performance was "great".
well it depends on where you live really. you can always go get a wrench and tune it yourself. but its really hard, and it always sounds wrong, but i would say between 60 and 100 dollars
For about $20-$30 you can buy a decent electronic tuner if you don't have an ear for tuning. It's frustrating at first to have to tune an autoharp constantly, but after awhile it will stay in tune nicely (at least, you won't have to tune it between every song like you will when you first buy one).
Yeah, a lot of people just think you "push buttons and strum." I made this movie 3 years ago, so I've improved a lot, I like to think.

I just got an autoharp. It's harder than people think. I'm wondering what you sound like now. I'm going to go check out the rest of the channel.
Good job.

(continued from previous post:)
After a while, the strings settle in and stay in tune. I watched your guitar video and I thought you did a really good job of it for a newbie.

Great. But, uh, you gotta tune it. (Significantly) Listen to each wire - they all have to right on or it's going to sound out of tune.
