  • Looks good. You look a really decent bat.

Only one small thing (maybe your coaches told you this): stay with the pull. You lean back a wee bit there instead of dancing from right foot to left (toes finishing pointing down the pitch) at the point of contact and then staying with it (not turning your head too far to leg). Weight should finish more on the left foot.

Hope you don't mind me saying this but it should give you a bit more control in executing that stroke. Go well, mate.

  • one thing i noticed is that you have to watch the ball all the way onto the bat to have the best possible chance of cracking it perfectly. try to focus on that

other then that, a fine young batsman

  • Good stuff, for a number 11

  • @JamesEngland60 What sort of person do you have to be to watch someone elses video, then leave smart arse comments that have nothing constructive to them. It's not like i have said in the description that i am the best bat around. I know that i'm not, thats why i uploaded this video.

  • @JamesEngland60 Why do you criticize cricket videos, is it because you're shit your self so you feel the need to hide behind the computer criticizing other people who are probably better than you and after looking at the comments on your profile you probably do it alot. Why don't you post a video showing who good you are before criticizing others.

  • Hi

my name is Peter H Smith I am a cricket coach and specialise on a1-to1.My contact email is techsmart@xtra.co.nz. I am in the process of getting my website done.

I have only just seen your video, but if you still need help, I can assist.

  • mate your shite you fucking aussi

  • Well played ..Good video.

  • What speed were the balls bowled at? It seemed pretty slow. But from the looks of it theres nothing wrong with your technique.

  • they are just slow throw downs. they're not supposed to test you out, it's just so you can see what your technique is like, and find areas to improve.

  • do what you think feels best as long as your hitting it hard, and defending well then the runs will come

  • thats pretty good, just make sure on you back foot shot, bring your back foot back and across to middle, get in line with the ball, you have got a good cut shot though!

and make sure you point your toe, and take a big step forward and dont let you back foot come of of the ground when you play you formard drives!

but overall you pretty good, keep it up!

  • im pretty sure hes got a coatch!

  • thats good thanx, played really well in the nets today and i wasnt thinking at all, so im on my way to a big score sooner or later

  • thats good mate. i need that sorta training i think, cos im new to (playing) cricket and not a very good batsman yet. i think u played the cut shot really well and got ur weight and head over the ball. the backfoot drive was well excucuted as well.

hey u might be able to help me.. what do u generally do when u first come into bat, cos ive been going out fairly quickly, but i can also play a few of the basic shots too i mean how do u cope with pressure and stuff??

  • I also get very nervous when i go out to bat. I generally bat at number 4. so i am usually padded up waiting for the longest amount of time. the main thing is to not think too much. Don't think about the bowler or the way your playing, thats what training is for. Cricket is a simple game when it is broken down. Just watch the ball, move to the ball, and hit the ball. Don't think about anything else. also, it's good to have a set routine on your way out to the crease and while at the crease.

  • very nice hitting there m8 keep it up
