I think it is important to look at the fact that autism didn't exist before 1943. Since then the definition has grown broader. The diagnosing has gotten better. No one looks at these facts. I have asperger syndrome, but in the past I wouldn't have been diagnosed. My dad and grandma both have it, but aren't diagnosed and aren't in the numbers. I think the numbers have gone up but not as dramatically as we think, for most scientist forgot this fact in their papers.

My daughter was immediately taken to the nursery when I had her because they said she was "breathing too fast" and couldn't catch her breath. I'm wondering if this is the reason why because my husband didn't even get a chance to cut the cord before the doctor did it. I didn't even get to hold her until hours later because of this. Thanks for the video, I would have never known about cord clamping if I hadn't seen this.

*Sigh* Why would want to discourage people from a good thing? I've spent the last 10yrs w/ ppl w/ autism and only want what's best for them. I'm not a dr, just very educated on the subject. I don't want to see innocent people hurt or scammed. I truly believe it to be a fact that stem cell injections into the arm cannot do a thing to help autism, only harm. I am not so familiar with chord clamping and will research that. It sounds like maybe you have some personal experience with it?

That's funny... My son got tremendous cognitive gains from umbilical cord blood stem cells. His teachers and doctors are amazed at his progress. I suppose you are a brain surgeon, and know more than an entire medical team.
you should check out Dr Sara Buckley's research on the subject. She has it laid out in her book "gentle birth gentle mothering" i like the issue you bring up

regarding the video. Erm, no. Autism is a NEUROLOGICAL CONDITION. It is GENETIC. It cannot be gotten from clamped umbilical cords or whatnot.
ADD and ADHD and Dyslexia I believe is a neurological condition as well

I would like to make a comment because I have Autism myself this upsets everyone around me
people don't understand me and my mother suffers also because of it.Ive written
this by the help of my tutor,mentor and very close friend who said that I am a special girl yes! cord clamping made me very special.
