khanacademy is cool stuff.

However, students get excited by change.

I wonder if some of the excitement will eventually wear off unless a variety of approaches are tried.

One other positive aspect: Normally the quality of lectures that students receive are from a normal distributions: The quality varies by teacher, mood of the teacher, mood of the class. A video-based system freezes a top-quality lecture.

There is no middle, every individual has strengths and weaknesses in every topic. What Khan Academy does is isolate and solves every students weaknesses.

I'm disappointed in these teachers. They still don't fully understand that the old paradigm is wrong. Those students who genuinely aren't in the middle. Supplement their education beyond the classroom, because traditional lectures demand varying degrees of attention.
