I totally screwed myself, I touch some button on the sides of the other menus and options, they have dissapeared and I cannot get them back..got a tutorial on what NOT to do?!

in Maya (also in cinema 4D) go to the top toolbar and select window - from here you can get back the other boxes that dissapeared.. hope this helps.

I love how i'm reading a 1000 page pdf on covering everything on Maya. Then I come in here and have to find out that when using a small resolution you can just hit spacebar to find the four view...... I was trying to figure out how to switch it for 1 fucking hour and All i had to do was change my resolution bigger or hit space bar, amazing they wouldn't mention anything like that in the 1000 page pdf... Don't even waste your time with that if you're a beginner. Watch these videos and learn fast.

If anyone else has the issue on where they see green vertices click the blue cube over your project viewer. you have toggle between vertice mode and Face mode. Face mode is where all the vertices are connected by faces. (the faces in Maya are grey).

Does this utilize your graphics card at all? I'm a n00b in the 3D world. I have a 5770 1GB and I'm fairly sure tessellation requires a medium-high end gpu. Like when you render something.

I have a question, I used Solid edge and solid works for a long time. and now im using maya to animate and do more creative stuff. but I cant find myself in Maya. I cant find unit tools, symetry beteween edges for example. or relationes beteween 2 points or edges. I want to create a relation where an edge has some distance to another edge, and another edge has the same. so simple yet I cant. help please.

Mate, this is excellent, just slow it down just a little. When you open a menu try to make it slow and smooth - you move the mouse around a lot, very quickly and I lost you a few times ;) Otherwise, please keep going! Thanks!

@ninjabuntu If you are a student like myself you can get all of the Autodesk software for free. Just go to students.autodesk.com and you have to sign up with your student-issued email address(.edu address) Thats how I just got Maya and 3DS Max 2011
