@KennBosak read some of the comments to this video. It´s quite difficult to make good espresso on this machine. Basic rules: grind fine, use the most fresh coffee beans. OR Buy a pro coffee grinder. Waiting to see your results. Good luck!
The BEST way to get the BEST deal, is to go on ebay, and find a used Mazzer Superjolly or Major. These are commercial quality, high volume grinders, and will be the last grinder you ever buy. The difference in shot quality with overwhelm you! dont worry if they have a couple dings/scratches etc..They are literally TANKS, and last forever. I know some people who have a 20yr old mazzer that was used in a high volume cafe for 20yrs. They are THE BEST. I have a Major. I love it.
I think you might find it easier using a heavier metal tamper. PLastic tampers are real tough to use, and in reality, useless. Look online for a SS tamper that fits your PF size. I THINK you have a 53mm PF..but it might also be 57mm. Give it a measure and see.
Also, try passing the coffee grounds through a sieve before you load the PF. The braun in wildly inconsistent, sifting them will help remove the larger chunks.
Thank for the reply. Very usefull. I've actually got me a metal tamper and it works much better. I agree with you on the Braun...very inconsistens. Do you have a better alternative. Maybe a good grinder instead? Thanks again
@versionvision I take an example. If you have a 800$ budget then you might rather get Rancilio Rocket or Baritza Vario grinders and a 350-450$ machine rather than Francis Francis X1 or Rancilio Silvia and a Baraza Maestro+ or Virtuoso grinders that do not get fine enough grind or consistency in particle size for espresso. You could also get the Hario Skeleton hand mill that works really well for espresso but it takes a lot of time and elbow use.
@klarinetta I ended up buying a nuevo simonelli grinder at the price point 'round 300$. Its very good and really improves the expresso quality. Francis Francis is not the best machine in its price class but every machine need good company from the right grinder. I'm too lazy to use a Hario Skeleton ;-)
dude so close I need help on how to use this red one almost like that one. ugh. ill make a video of me trying my best lol. . .

1. Allways use fresh whole coffee beans. 2. Grind very fine 3. Brew at the right temperature (red lamp turns off)
