What ever differences of opinion you may have with Jung you are foolish to not glean insight from his thoughts. the man was a hall of fame genius in the history of mankind. what have you done.
i would say that i know god exists because i have experienced god. many people have had mystical experiences in which they experience the presence of god. these experiences are very real and very powerful. to experience god once leaves you very much knowing. you don't have to believe in something you know as fact.
When someone hears or reads words that are true, they know them to be true call it whatever you want, so it is my perception that people who are Jung "haters", have to face demons of their own.
"The only real danger that exists in man itself"? Try breathing in an air filled room of O3, or defending against a stampeding elephant, or survive in space, survive a direct asteroid impact...Too rediculous.
@tomsawyersucks It's okay if Jung wants to express his religious beliefs. He can preach all he wants. But religious beliefs and preaching have no place in the licensed practice of psychotherapy.
@Darrell861 I think you misunderstoood him. The only "beleif" Carl Jung had expressed in regards to religion was that religion itself was a bi-product of the human psyche. Each religion is unique in its own way based on the people who created it, So to understand religion, you must know the people who created it first. Hence, Christianity and the western world, and Buddhism in the eastern. And why, and how, each people uses these religions practially in their lives.
The problem with criticizing metaphysical topics is that so few have actually had the force of will to actually experiment with them and search for the validity of the ideas. And so the criticism is always something like "These ideas are lies." The failure of that criticism is not understanding metaphorical patterns our bodies and minds experience outside language and socialization. Being human is dynamic and so should your beliefs be... come on step outside that comfort zone and discover. :)
Jung was a high-level snake oil pusher, posing first as a man of science, then, increasingly, as a sort of prophet, sage and seer. He didn't even have enough decency to be suitably ashamed of his collaboration with the Nazi establishment. A narcissistic racist fruitcake who did much more harm than good.
u, my freind, are a professional loser.if jung was here today he would reply to this with some smart comment that makes u look like a retard........yes i said retard......"that coming from the SCREAMING RETARD" u may reply
I think the word you were groping for was "complementary" not "complimentary", but perhaps it's not realistic to expect either literacy or intelligence in Youtube posts. Jung was essentially a self-aggrandising exponent of pseudo-science. "Synchronicity" was a particularly silly and unscientific idea. It's out on the lunatic fringe with Reich's orgone accumulator.
To tobywirrll: part 1: What i am saying here is not a criticism is just a point of view: Seven years ago i had a hoopoe coming at my window every day (never witness anything like it before and had never witness it after) for seven days, my grandmother told me that this is a bad omen and someone will die in the family (i took this as superstisious nonsense). Now, in mythology, birds are usually symbols for spirits, flying spirits.
to tobywirrll part 2: A day or two after my grandmother had told me that, my uncle (whom i loved deeply) had a aneurysm and after 7 days of staying in a coma, died! After my uncle had the stroke, the bird never came back at my window!
Jung defines sincronicity as an acausal connecting principle! I just remembered this incident with my uncle recently because i began reading symbolism and the effects they have on human psyche.
to tobywirrll part 3: I can dissmiss that incident with the bird as a mere coincidence and leave it to that, but i can't. Now, i am more than convinced that that bird coming at my window was prophetic. The question is: can you ever prove this scientifically? Is there anything outside the realm of ego, consciousness and science that is as real as the car you are driving and yet cannot be proved scientifically? IMO, Jung nailed sincronicity bang on! Psyche stands also outside the realm of science!
J. never said the "outer" world was evil. This is the projection of your own polarity. Individuation is the process by which you withdraw your own projections, instead of being in the grip of unconscious content, which also leaves one vulnerable to being manipulated by others (cults, etc.) Narcissism is the result of Ego Inflation, i.e.,the opposite of integration. The observation of dreams and their compensatory/complimentary effects on conscious behavior is empirical. You've never read Jung.
are you implying that if you're right handed, thus using your left brain you can't understand this segment of Jungian psychology? I'm ambidextrous and I understand it quite well, but I was always curious about the correalation between comprehension and which brain is being used.
Yes correct.. we use right hand for write because to write is an "logical" attivity, i use left foot for to play footbal, so i use "intuition" for command my foot. I thinck that if you use only left brian can't und J. psychology, if you use also right brian with left you can understand. half sciaman half sciantist so, i thinck but that we have a "original sin", the tree of knowledge that we must to elaborate in order to make the man whole, the way depend by the information in the brian by a part
God exists means that our conception of God exists and God is a metaphor for that which transcends all forms human thought. But transcendence is possible it has been done and those who have done it say that God is everything so they have seen god as all, the universe our world and all within it including us. This is known and as he knew it, it would follow that he had transcended and seen god not as the conception of religion an old father figure, but all that exists.
What Jung refers to when saying that he "knows" is that anyone who "believes" in GOD actually means that in their own mind they "know" god exist. Ie: Believing in GOD isnt anymore a question of reality or belief as reality is what the psyche defines it to be; "knowing"
I have to disagree. Many people believe because their understanding of God comes from something they are taught to believe. However there are some, who have had mystic experiences and have encountered the Divine not by seeking but incidentally, that is how "knowing" comes about.
Sex with patients is VERY unprofessional.

I think this is just meant to be simple satire. Perhaps CGJ would have laughed at parts of this. Or would Jung even be on Youtube?
