Dougie is a dance, a dance is not hip hop. Any song where they talk about "do the (stupid dance)" and "watch ME (as in not you) do this stupid dance" and anything like that is pathetic and makes hip hop look like some simpleminded bullshit.

@DjPyro2010 Some dances can be considered staples of a genre, (Breakdancing & Hip-Hop, Headbanging & Hard Rock/Metal) though the dougie is far from that. Calm down though. I for one more or less agree with your statements, as I always have (which being a high-school student, leads to many debates), but this particular song isn't as bad compared to some of the other stuff out (Lil' Wayne, case in point). Like Doug E. said, it's just for fun.

@DjPyro2010 I mean if we're gonna talk about simple minded lyrics, look no further than Kurtis Blow's "The Breaks". All he says is "Brakes....Brake...Break...Bre­aks..." and so forth. However, it's catchy, it's fun, it's fundamental hip-hop, and it's a classic. "Teach Me How To Dougie" is just for partying, no real purpose. Just fun and catchy.
