Thanks for the video. wow a lot has changed. I dont remember any park area under the bridge. Looking towards Stow on old 59 I remember a Buick dealer on the left A Sohio (I worked there a few years ) and Bisslers furniture store on the right and no parking on the bridge.

It is cool to see this, I just just been there and stood on that bridge it was -14 degrees and covered in snow. Very pretty

Originally it was Rt 5 before the put in Haymaker Parkway. It wasn't the hippie liberals that got the damn removed it was the EPA who said the flow had to be improved if more houses were to be built.. The REAL reason they took out the damn in Kent and the one in Monroe Falls was to allow more sewer flow from the treatment plants so more houses could be built hence more tax $.

Actually, that's West Main, not route 59. It connects to 59 at the top of the hill to the west.

You're right. I guess I'm just old enough to both know better AND forget. Rte. 59 now bypasses downtown via Haymaker Parkway.
