I've been to hundreds of metal shows and concerts and by far Slipknot's pits are the biggest. In 2000 I saw the Tattoo the Earth tour with Metallica, Slayer, Slipknot, Sepultura and a few other bands. For most of the bands, little pits broke out here or there, but when Slipknot played, the whole General Admission became a wave of people and you couldn't stand. It was out of control. And I'm talking about 10-15,000 fans completely immersed in a wave of pure and beautiful chaos.
