Reached "Movements" nearly a year ago - became frustrated and put the game down for a (long) while. Finally came back to it last night and realized why I put the game down! lol

Also, I only used the Evap stone to quickly jump to the Earth one. I secured that one and let the Evap go. Once you have the Earth one you are set. It was STILL a water world when i won it, although the lava was slowly coming in from the sides.
I went the water route. The volcano in the center stayed more or less dormant. I had all my bases set up, when you get the last one the lava comes from the sides. This is when I capped 2 or 3 times then exited real quick.
Does anyone else get the feeling this level is completely fucking impossible on PC? I can't even come close to pulling off the LUCKY run of this walkthrough.
i really fucking hate this map it all about timing u got work fast or else u got trouble the annyoing thing is the volcano doesnt work the way i want it to do i cant build a rock wall infront of my first village and controlling the lava flow at once
@sketchy901 It's not about brains, I really wish it was. It's about getting lucky and getting through the false Nintendo Hard difficulty, much like the level with the tide.
I do this a little bit different, I basically sprint for Evaporate rather than start with Amplify, then once you get Evaporate getting to the other 3 totems is a cinch, as there is no water in the way at all so you can go in almost a straight line. As long as you work on directing the lava while they are moving between totems there is practically nothing to worry about.
Occasionally I will have to protect the Infinite Earth totem (since it's so close to the side) but it's not hard. I'm on PC.
I was trying for the don't lose 5 villages cheeb. Had lost 0 up to this point, and then fucked it up because of this level. Fuck this level, fuck the cheeb, fuck this game. 190/200 is gonna have to do because I'm not doing it all over. -_-
seriously none of the levels was this hard for me...not even raging earth...i figured that one out wit help from @thereddragon but this level even with his help i cant beat it....its been like 3 days....but i must say this is th most logical tutorial...
Excellent guides - Thanks for making this so easy to get to the last level which is what attracted me to the game - Sandbox mode (almost). I have found all your guides to not only be instructional, but fun and interesting and generally the fastest way to beat the levels.
If you have lots of patience this level is very easy. Dont make any villages yet. First, move the exploding plants on the volcano to the edge of map so they dont make a huge hole. Then make a wall from where your guys start on the shore to the volcano. Make it high enough to survive the 3 or 4 floods that happen. Now wait for the volcano to stop. When it does, go make the evaporate village. Click evaporate. Get the fire protection. Make the other villages and use evaporate whenever it rains.
Oh snap, that's how evaporate works? This level shouldn't be this hard from what I've seen on the video. Also, nice videos! I got this game last Wednesday at a discounted price from the PS3 and it's awesome!!!
pro tip: take the village next to the volcano (you WONT make it in time before the first flood) concentrate on keeping the lava off of it; when taken send a man to get the lava/fire protector so once that's at your village this level is soooo easy because as soon as the floods arrive activate the evaporate; Seriously it's that easy did this on my first attempt doing that. One of the shortest levels yet :)
What I've found out is, go to the Evaporation, make sure the lava won't go over to the village and send a tribes man to the fire stone. After your guy gets back, just wait till the map ends and use Evaporate so you'll never drown.

Just a tip, incase you didn't notice or haven't been told this already, but the animals themselves will plant vegetation where ever they are crawling. So if you put sand under them they will start to spread new plants around that aren't connected to the vegetation that you spread yourself. This will rapidly increase your vegetation percentage. Hope this helps.

Next time be a little bit nicer - don't take it out on me cause you can't beat a level in a video game
I played till this level, but this one is way on my nerves. I thought games were supposed to be entertaining NOT frustrating. After 10 tries I deleted it. Cool graphics, not the best water/lava effects ever like most say. Extremely limited in all options, only 4 powers - lame and DO the same thing in each level. The sequences between levels is the same. They should at least worked that out.
Overall - OK-ish. Populus was and still is 100% better. Ubisoft failed with this one.
I play the PC version and this is the only map that gave me trouble. A lot of people had problems with Rising Tides, because on the PC version the tides never drain out like they do on the X-Box Version, but all I had to do there was leave the first town as a dust generator and raise the second town above water, then use absorb to drag villagers across the water to the island, it was cake.
@Laughingblades u know how i did that rising tides? since teh fkin water didnt lower i got the villagers 1 by 1 across by almost drowning them and using the waves to push them to the other shore ;d srsly though why the fk did they make pc harder
@simbadas1234 :D washing them across with water works too, I didn't think it was all that hard the most annoying part for me was getting enough dust to get the second town above the flood line and I had that done by the third tidal wave. After I had engulf all, I just had to get them in the water and engulf in front of them to make it drag them to the island, and after that it was easy peasy.
I think the PC version is probably more fun, all that water makes it an interesting sandbox when done.
for ppl wondering about the demo, its not on the demo section. go to arcade games and from dust then just press get trial. btw the pc version was out 17 august

@JimmyCougar They seem to have some difficulty moving over rocky terrain, they get a bit "pants on head retarded". try putting some dirt under their feet and see if they move.
@Kenz305 Eventually beat it when the AI actually did what I wanted it to do. Usually the AI has no problem, but they do seem to do that a lot in this level. It's also notable in some of the challenges that the developers didn't think about like having so many things being hard to see from a birds eye view. Like trying to stop a fire using the explosion trees is made impossible in one challenge because I can't see them through the vegetation.

Here is what u do to beat his level more efficiently...when u start off RUN to infinite earth. do what u need to do to build the village...then raise said village with your new power as high as u can then lift all of the other totem poles and build villages...
This one took me some time, but once you get evaporate you dont really need to worry about the floods. Also with the volcano, just keep diverting the flow from the totem. The same for when the whole thing erupts. Takes alot of patience and repetition. Now that I've completed game, I will be happy to miss those dreaded words.."The village has been destroyed". Thanks for the help dragon :)
Heh, I got the first village and the fire protection thing, then moved the village to near the center of the volcano to stay above the second flood. Then that huge pit opened in the center, literally feet from my village -- one of the houses was actually down on the wall of the pit :P

just a tip. instead of evaporating the rains after the lava starts to bellow up in that last onslaught, wait a minute and it will immediately put the lava out, then hit evaporate, youll cut it close, but kill the wait time down a lot. other than that, swell moves mate
this is the only map that i had to restart. water bad..ok then so i drained the water with evaporation totem then the volcano comes alive and kills every thing...wonderful...
My strategy: Immediately go for the Jellify Water totem. While this is going, build up the top of the volcano to direct it away from the villages.IMMEDIATELY as it finishes, start building the Evaporate totem, AND get the repel lava/fire knowledge. If not done already, build up small walls to keep lava from getting near the evaporate village. Once all the volcanoes begin erupting I just build up walls around them to make them flow outside the map. Then no more lava to worry about.
Ha, this mission can suck my dick, i got all the villages and sent them to the exit and just as the Jellify Water Village got burned down the exit was open, so i went through that fucker and completed this mission.
Another way that you have to try is to rush the evaporate village in order to survive the first flood and then direct the lava to out the way, this gives you a chance to grab all the villages on the map and the power up the after the lava clears fill the crater with sand and get you 100% veg achievement.
I passed after trying 3 times

its like making a problem (fire tree) and than making another problem (water tree) to solve the fire tree.

I was doing okay, then a huge pit opens in the center and drops lava everywhere before I can get fire protection to village two. GAAH THIS LEVEL.

This one took me some time, but once you get evaporate you dont really need to worry about the floods. Also with the volcano, just keep diverting the flow from the totem. The same for when the whole thing erupts. Takes alot of patience and repetition. Now that I've completed game, I will be happy to miss those dreaded words.."The village has been destroyed". Thanks for the help dragon :)

Heh, I got the first village and the fire protection thing, then moved the village to near the center of the volcano to stay above the second flood. Then that huge pit opened in the center, literally feet from my village -- one of the houses was actually down on the wall of the pit :P

This level has me stumped,when the volcano erupts all round the map was a WTH momment- burning villagers by the bucket load! :( Will retry the level again lol Cheers for the tutorial's- plus great & clear commentry btw.

just a tip. instead of evaporating the rains after the lava starts to bellow up in that last onslaught, wait a minute and it will immediately put the lava out, then hit evaporate, youll cut it close, but kill the wait time down a lot. other than that, swell moves mate

this is the only map that i had to restart. water bad..ok then so i drained the water with evaporation totem then the volcano comes alive and kills every thing...wonderful...

My strategy: Immediately go for the Jellify Water totem. While this is going, build up the top of the volcano to direct it away from the villages.IMMEDIATELY as it finishes, start building the Evaporate totem, AND get the repel lava/fire knowledge. If not done already, build up small walls to keep lava from getting near the evaporate village. Once all the volcanoes begin erupting I just build up walls around them to make them flow outside the map. Then no more lava to worry about.

Ha, this mission can suck my dick, i got all the villages and sent them to the exit and just as the Jellify Water Village got burned down the exit was open, so i went through that fucker and completed this mission.

Another way that you have to try is to rush the evaporate village in order to survive the first flood and then direct the lava to out the way, this gives you a chance to grab all the villages on the map and the power up the after the lava clears fill the crater with sand and get you 100% veg achievement.
