The beginning of Bioshock, as shown in this video, never made any sense to me. Why inject yourself with a syringe straight off, when you don't even know what's in it? Just because some disembodied voice told you to? Who does that?

And given that your first power is electricity, it seems very odd that your first environmental hazard would be water, when the plane crashes into the tunnel.

Then again, the whole game mechanic of injecting yourself to get super-powers seems wrong to me.

no biggie, and it does work on dx9. quite well actually. graphics are still amazing, and doesnt put a huge load on your cpu. game was well made

ehm, I played bioshock 2 which I would assume is more graphic intense but it still ran very smoothly. I think an average graphics card with perhaps a 2ghz+ will run this just fine max settings

Nice system. I have X58 with i7 920 (not overclocked) D0 stepping with OCZ Gold triple channel 1333MHz RAM and a single 4870 1GB running a dual-screen setup. Bragging aside, Cryengine 3 is so much more optimized; so on lowest setings it would probably run better than Crysis or even Warhead. Knowing Crytek, they will probably make the high settings require next generation hardware and the very high require something from Skynet or NASA. I bet the game is going to be awesome, though. Can't wait!

lol things have come a long way, but this is still pretty nice...I went back and forth on DX10 games until I noticed that in XP you could get even better graphics by utilitizing the NVidia custom program settings. But there is definately some things in DX10 that are worth it. Mass Effect for example for some reason looks and runs better (no crashes) in Vista 64. Burnout has some filters that don't do anything when you turn them on in XP. But Shawn White def better in XP w Nvid profiles.

The motherboard is Nvidia nForce 780i (300 dollars)

The Raptor DDR2 is Ram. (100 bucks for 2x 2 gb's of ram (4 gb's)). It's a great deal!

UPDATES on the rig:

The Area 51 case is only 40 bucks on PC Gear, and It's great. It's got a window, and LED's rigged all over it, plus LED fans. It's fun!

Not sure what the Quad Core processor is (I forgot and I just got it a week ago, lol) but I know it was expensive.

from what i can remember the gameplay is split into different areas with a change of theme for each. there is a loading time between each but you play all the way through the game with levels changing when you go through a door etc

The DX10 only seems to add more definition to shadows and water effects at the moment, the DX10.1 should hopefully knock it up another notch....BAM!
