  • @thefreakofnaturesm i mean ... about what i just said...cornwall is great and i love it but it would be nice to have some sunshine every noe and then! cornwall isn't that boring but ... ummmm...well ... yeah ... you know ... well ... anyone who has lived ther would anyway!

  • Cornwall FTW !

  • Waaahhhaaaaayyy I Live In Cornwall, [Newlyn] It ROCKS

  • i thought this was cornwall new york, where i live. sadly... it is not

  • @paulcrews SADLY?

this is the real, best cornwall.

  • im from cornwall ontario... does that count???

  • The best place in the World. Cornwall.

  • Hi guys, i'm looking to study down in cornwall but don't really know much about the area. Can someone who lives, or has lived there help me out a bit if at all possible? It would be much appreciated.

  • boring place if u live here

  • That's a good thing

  • My ancestors are from Cornwall. I need to visit.

  • nice i used to live there

  • Nice to meet you! Yeah, my ancestors were miners in Cornwall and of course the economy was going bad so they moved to the United States to mine. A lot of my family is still mining.

  • you will be welcome to come to cornwall the people are very friendliest in the UK.

  • mine too apparently..

  • Comment removed

  • Great places... and nice video, thanks!

I love the audio track too...

  • lovely places, im soon gonna be one of those tourists :)

  • Quite funny reading all the comments about tourists xD but really, everyone likes going on holiday somewhere else, right? That makes everyone a tourist. To not be one you'd have to stay in one place your whole life.

  • i go to cornwall 3 weeks every year

    im from leeds/yorkshire :D

  • its called Boscastle by the way

  • Cornwalls history is shaped so much by it. As for the 1500's, if it's the act of uniformity your alluding to, any act that has a bearing on language has a bearing on culture, and that is as relevant today as ever.

  • see u in the sloop mate ! lol

  • make mine a Tinners ;-)

  • IM ENGLISH ! born in manchester, and i dont give a crap wat u cornish people say cos at the end of the day, were all from the same island, the BRITISH ISLES, so stop segretgating ya selfs like little boys and grow up and face the facts, yur all ENGLISH !...got that, cos am moving to st ives next years, and ill see you all in the sloop-inn for sum proper coider hahaha ! Danny

  • you might want to keep those opinions to yourself or at least shout about them when your down lol....I think there is nothing wrong with celebrating unique regional identity..and you can't criticise people for doing so..thats just intolerant and asking for hostility...celebrating ones identity is not juvenile self segragation, it's culture

  • its ok the history of cornwall, but yur part of britain, english through and through, ya all need to stop segreagting ya self by being just cornish and saying its not england, thats why u see wars today cos of people deviding them selfs by saying yur not english but cornish, this is year 2009, not the 1500s ??

  • And i speak to locals in the sloop about this, not afraid , im going there for a week on 11th aprill and i cant wait cos st ives is a wonderfull place, and i dont need to ask for hostility cos im part of this country. besides without outsiders visiting st ives then there would be no jobs at all for the locals, the reason why st ives is so nice is becos it atracts people from al over the world putting money into the tourist industry therefore higher taxes making it even nicer still.

  • ...I don't think I ever said visitors or cosmopolitan influence was ever negative, or that you should be afraid to discuss your views in the sloop, lol, just consider them a little more carefully...as I said, celebrating distinct aspects of regional heritage is not the same as segregating oneself. Neither is celebrating unique regional qualities the rejection of 'outsider' influence...

  • St Ives would be alot nicer without you cunts.

  • Disregard this comment, my idiot brother made it..

  • great place st ive, i am going down there in me car friday nite from manchester, ill be in the sloop inn satday having me dinner n a pint a scrum followed by me clotted cream n scone n jam, then off to go fishing n snorkling on me fav beach the portminster...N NEXT YEAR AM MOVING THERE FOR GOOD ! love st ives to bits!!!!

  • Don't let him on your account.

  • Here here old boy well said!!!!!!

  • lmao

  • lmfao emits

  • did you not read? emmet is a real Cornish word!!! so everyone who is truly cornish says it! obviously not you.

  • PLEASE DO NOT BLAME ME !!!!!!!!!

I just made the film !!!.......

Hope it does Cornwall justice .

I must say that it is a beautiful place to visit .

Until I saw the comments I did not know what an emit ( or emmet was !!), so thanks to everybody concerned for enlightening me .

  • hey man i wasn't blaming you, all im doing is trying to tell futhyones that he is wrong, which he is because emmet is a Cornish word and the only correct spelling. nice video by the way.

  • every single one of my decendents are cornish so don't you tell me im not cornish.Emit is the main spelling .emmet is a fucking shit up its only a word so please stop replying

  • emit is not the main spelling only ignorant shits like you spell it that way because its "easier to spell" WTF you wouldn't say Curno instead of Kernow, you wouldn't say Didda instead of Dydh da, you wouldn't say vikn instead of Vyken, would you? emmet is the real spelling as i keep telling you bt your tiny mind cannot comprehend it. if you are Cornish, then respect your own language, if you don't, then you're as bad as the emmets.

  • My film seems to have kicked off a minor war of words !!!

I am not Cornish , but I worked with somebody who was , and he was ( like you ) very proud to be Cornish .

Please tell an ignorant Englishman like me , ( with Scottish roots )what an emmets are ....

( will wait to see if somebody else tells me I have spelt it wrong

    Cheers hjdnad

  • an emmet is a person from outside of Cornwall, this can be a visitor, or someone who has made lodgings here.

  • Lies. Emmet is not a Cornish word and anyone who has learned Cornish knows this. Emmet is a dialect word which came from Middle English 'emete' or 'æmete' and means ant. Emmet does not feature in ANY Cornish dictionary. The Cornish word for ant is 'Muryon' not emmet. If we're going to call English tourists ants, we should call them "Muryonen" the plural form of Muryon.

  • ..emmet possibly has greek origins, i think, from the sprawling nature of ants

  • padstwo rules

treyarnon and watergate bay and pretty gd beaches 2

  • lovely!

  • having been to most of these places, over the years i just want to thank you for bringing back some lovely memories - thanks

  • Cornwall has to be one of the most beautiful areas in the world, nay the universe (especially St Ives!!!!)

*Love the use of Jean Michel Jarre BTW! LOL!

  • I totally agree with you! MY favourite is St Ives too :)

  • its not a path to st michaels mount - its a tombolo

  • A very nice video. I recently did a 30 min one of around the Helford River Cornwall. Alas my current programme only permits me to mix the camcorder sound and music for the whole movie or off altogether, thus not letting me turn off the camcorder sound for individual shots. Therefore I'm interested to know what software you are using. Cheers

  • Glad you liked the film .....

All my films on You Tube have been made using Windows Movie Maker ...... it is very simple to use ... you can mute one or all video clips , and add music of your choice.... or even copy a video clip into the audio , and use that sound on a different video clip

  • DAMN EMITS GET OUT OF CORNWALL

  • Sad bastard

  • yeh haha emits are the scum of the earth

  • emmets? hmmm, maybe you spell it different from me cos you live more south. but quite right.

  • where are you from?

  • Bodmin, but habg on, i know we might spell it differently, but i spell it right, cos emmet is an actual Cornish word.

  • yes emmet is a cornish word but emit is the new spelling because its easier to spell and they emit shit lol

  • everyone says emit its the officail spelling nowadays

  • well it most certainly is NOT. emmet is the proper spelling either spell it hat way or not at all. thankyou.

  • I am trying to get my CAMRA group to come down here for a holiday.

  • bad sound :\

  • They couldve just waited for the path that appears at low tide lol..The beach at St mickeals mount is good, but can get REALLY smelly

  • I love cornwall !! gr8 video :)

  • I remember working at Trebah gardens - couldnt believe that such companies are still exploiting their staff making them work all day with no breaks :( Anyway i think they have changed their ways but still was not a nice experience.

    Lovely video.

  • I think Cornwall is the nicest part of England.
