  • It's been two years since I first saw this video while feeling homesick in the Philippines. Had it not have been for awesome videos like this, I probably would've offed myself in that 3rd World hell hole. It sure feels good to be back in Queens. And I don't think I'll be leaving this place anytime soon.

  • @DoryokuFiripin Wow, thank you. I cant tell you how incredibly humbling your words are towards me and my video. Im please that it was a piece in helping you get by until you came home... to Queens. Perhaps we all can truly go home, someday.

  • @tmoore2010 No friend, it is I who should be thankful. Thankful for your video and how it kept my faith strong in the hopes that I will one day come back home. I hope someday you'll find your way back home as well. Peace!

  • How is queens? Would you guys suggest to go see it?

  • @bornthisway197 YES. go see the ethnic side of the city. Queens is the most diverse county in the most diverse city in the most diverse country in the world. in Queens, we got it all. any kinds of food. from Caribbean food to Cantonese delicacies . all types of shopping "themes" that by which i mean you can shop on Main St and feel like your in Asia or go shopping on Roosevelt Ave and feel like your in Central or South America. Queens is the only county in the world represented by all nations.

  • Thank you so much for doing this. I left Queens many many years ago and life in the Southwest however Queens we always be some kind od strange spiritual homeland. Not sure why. You got it right. The music, the shots, just perfect....Thanks

  • I miss Queens, I live in Long Island and I want to me back to my old neighborhood in Ridgewood, Queens like when I was a little kid.

  • Do you think you need a car in queens or is the public transportation system decent?

  • @MrDreadedbwoy its far more than decent.

  • I'm so homesick, too!! Live in Philly now and Astoria has more life and action than the entire city of Philly imo. I miss home so much!

QUEENS, NY: "A GUIDE TO RECONGONIZING YOUR SAINTS!!!"

  • @ayobreak Thanks!

  • Jackson Heights ;)

  • Woodside, ASTORIA QUEENZZ ALL DAY!

  • Quennnsssssz NEW YORK!

  • Cambria Heights Queens stand UP!!!!!

  • shit, I have 20 years since I left, far Rockaway beach.

  • i've been homesick ever since i moved to tampa in 2000. i really do hate it here but my parents decided on moving back then, highly considering moving back with the next 2 years. live on 34th street between van dam st. and the queens midtown expressway

  • @Angel7black a LOT has changed since 2000. but the atmosphere of that area is still pretyy much the same. good luck.

  • @Angel7black

do it Angel! my parents took us out of NY back in 1983 to a city in the SW USA...learned alot of different things and ways (which is always a good thing), but when i had my chance to go back in 1990, i didn't do it and I've regretted it since...i go back every other year anyway, but i will always love NY and the Northeast US...next chance to relocate back to the Northeast will be in two more years :o--)

  • @NYer79 Now thats sound advice

  • @Angel7black Same here i hate Tampa!

  • @Angel7black Don't worry, you're not the only one. I never moved out or into New York. I'm stuck in Florida too, but I live in Ft. Lauderdale, it sucks.

I've never been to New York, I've always wanted to visit. Other than San Fran and Tokyo, NYC is, to me and several others, the "center of the universe".

  • Hi homesick too. I use to live in sunnyside

And then move to puerto vallarta and now

Moving back hone sunnyside wait for me

  • Im feeling homesick now :( , thx for posting tho brings back better times.

  • Sunnyside girl...my home sweet home for the first 25 years of my life....best place to grow up...thanks for the pics....I'm homesick ='(

  • @saved37 wow, where's home now?

  • @tmoore2010

living in South Florida now and have been here for a long time, but I've been so homesick lately, that's why I found this video..I've been googling everything on Sunnyside just so I can get the feeling of home!

  • Why just Astoria, Long Island City, Sunnyside, Woodside? What about the rest of Queens?

  • @primogennaio Originally it was all of these parts of queens, including jackson heights, jamaica, corona, flushing, and kew gardens, etc (all areas of queens where i either lived, went to school) but it became way too much even for a 7 min song. so with the pics I had I noticed that the above areas flowed more condusively with one another in the song. hence why only primarily these areas. I showed love to those areas in another vid I did but the song wasnt having the same vibe so i dropped it.

  • Woodside-Jackson Heights-Elmhurst in the house right here!!!!

Hit me up if you have any questions about Queens AKA The Real New York City.

  • @traindiggy nice. all the old stomping grounds. do you still ive in the city?

  • New York New York is where we live and were through never takin shorts cuz Queens is the borough

  • Reminds me a little of Liverpool not far from me.

  • @amopower1 from what ive read it is very similar. we dont have a large english community though. lot of irish and thensome.

  • @tmoore2010 Well you know the irish? they enjoy to travell! from what I hear, Newyork is a great place, but like Liverpool has had a reputation for tough living, I guess apart from a few open minded, diverse culture enjoying individuals, most english tend to emigrate to Europe or one of the common wealth countrys, anyways your video was (bang on) as us english would say! or (dead on) as you probably know the irish would say.

  • @amopower1 lol!

  • Like the man said we have the streets still people are feeding their kids at 5pm in Queens. Safte, good schools and parents to go with them on both outside and in. THERE's a lot to do in queens, It is full of parts a zoo, for children. Beaches.........

  • What an awesome job you did at finding great pics thanks!!!

  • I love NY and cannot wait to go back this next month, experiencing it both as a tourist and as a semi-native (my dad's family is from up that way). No place on Earth like it :)

  • 30th st and 34th reporting in

  • @fcknBru represent!

  • nice video, i've drove through queens many times.........in grand theft auto 4 LOL. thumbs up.

  • So, what does Queens offer a family? Is it safe? Schools? Traffic? Housing good? Things to do?

  • @HopeValleyRI Queens has areas like all other areas outside of major cities. The areas sepcified in this vid, Sunnyside, Woodside, and LIC are suburban/urban. There is little crime. Lots of entertainment both family friendly and for the adults. Easy access to any point within the five boroughs, long island and or otherwise. In the radius of these three towns there are at least, 20 or more parks. Major shopping districts that range from retail chains to tyhe local mom and pops for anything.

  • im from the west coast but i wish i lived there in those buildings just to see your guys life style because we live in houses separate homes with lawns and grass and great outdoors with lots of trees around. west side Washington state 509 sunnyside, yakima

  • @joyakkey

yeah. most of my adult life and latter teen years were in the Sunnyside, Woodside, LIC, Astoria, and the city. I lived and chilled around these parts of NY hence the heavy concentration.

  • I'm from New Zealand and I got to visit your wonderful city two years ago. Most of it was spent around Manhatten doing all of the tourist type things, I took a bus trip into Brooklyn and we went into the now trendy suburb of Flatbush. The only regret I have is that I didn't go into the suburbs and districts of NY or Long Island to see and experience the "real" New York.

  • flatbush is pretty real. but maybe you can come back and see queens next time!

  • I would love to, the only part of Queens I got to was "JFK". I believe Queens is where Jerry Seinfeld and George Costanza grew up.

  • Queens New York is the land of the finest

  • yes it is.

  • Is that considered fresh meadows? I always loved that area.

  • no 208th ST. iz between Murdoc Ave nd Linden Blvd. But yea 64th ave iz part of fresh meadows. i wuz born nd raise there bruh. i know cambria heights frm da bac of mii head

  • My beloved Queens =).

I was born in Elmhurst Hospital and lived in Queens for the first three years of my life, and I still love it!

God bless Queens, NY. Thanks for posting this man! The pictures and music are great!!!

  • Thanks. Im glad you enjoyed it. Where are you now?

  • Hey man. I'm in Miami now.

But I'm going to New York this December =).

My family lives in New Jersey, but I take the NJ bus to go into the city, so I'll definitely visit Queens.

My parents lived near the 82nd Street Jackson Heights Station.

Do you still live in Queens?

  • Nah, Im in SC now. Going to school so I can get a better job and go back to the city.

  • I'll bet you miss Queens a lot. I miss it like crazy!

    Is SC ok?

  • I do. The south is the worst. And living in SC is just as bad as when I lived in Boston for a year.

  • I have not heard great things about SC or the south in general. Technically, Miami is in the south, but it's not a "southern" city. It's mostly hispanics who live here (Cubans, Colombians, etc..)

I don't think I would like living in any of those southern states like SC, Alabama, Georgia etc..

I prefer NY any day. I miss NY.

  • I miss NY too. Omg. I reside in TX right now. NOTHING beats NY. I was born in Queens raised in Long Island

  • @TheMiguelvalles I know this wasa year ago. But the south is not as bad as people make it seem. I live in Alabama and I don't think its that bad at all. I would like to visit NY one day but i don't know how it would be to live there for a southern girl like me.

  • @CBluver1993 Hello. Are you from Alabama?

I would recommend you visit New York one day, maybe during the summer when the weather is nice.

  • @TheMiguelvalles Yes I was born and raised.

And I would love to visit there one day to one day move there if I liked it. :) But once again, I am nervous; being a southern girl.

  • @CBluver1993 Are you from one of the major cities, or the suburbs?

REason I ask is that I've heard most southern cities are ok, but when you go out into the suburbs is where you can find some trouble. I say that because I'm hispanic, not white. But i was born in Queens, NY.

There shouldn't be a problem if you want to move to NY someday. Most New Yorkers don't care where you're from. If you're nice to them, they'll be nice back.

But stay away from places like the Bronx, Harlem, etc..

  • @TheMiguelvalles I am from the biggest city in Alabama, Bimingham.

And yes you are right, places like Jasper are full of rednecks. I'm African American so I stay away from places like that. If you go to the right parts of the south, it can be great experience.

Thanks for the helpful advice, I feel a little better about New York.

  • @TheMiguelvalles Actually Harlem, The Bronx, etc have changed alot. any place anywhere is dangerous if you get invovled with the wrong people, or you are at the wrong place/ wrong time senario. I've learned that being in Greenville, SC.

  • @tmoore2010 Hey man! What up!

Haven't talked to you in a while. Hope all is great.

I might be going to NY again for the summer. God willing, I'll go in June.

It's best to avoid Harlem and the South Bronx at night. It's a good idea to stay home. lol

Is Greenville a bad place dude? I heard people from SC are VERY racist.

  • @TheMiguelvalles They're a bit 'southern'.

  • @tmoore2010 Hey man! What up!

My NY trip is next week man! I'm excited about that. I'll only be there two weeks but I'll definitely visit Queens!

regarding the south, it's not a place I admire or respect. Many claim to be christian and read the bible, but most of them are hateful, homophobic and intolerant of anyone who isn't like them.

Have you had problems with Southerners dude?

  • @TheMiguelvalles they tend to avoid me. especially when they find out Im a better shot than they are.

  • @tmoore2010 Dude, I was in Queens today and last week!

I visited the apartment where I spent a little bit of my childhood. I almost cried. lol

We used to live in Jackson Heights, NY.

I took the R train to Forest Hills too! That neighborhood is beautiful!

I hope to move back to Queens one day. Anyways, stay away from those southern haters.

They are two-faced people who have no idea what real Christianity is about.

  • cool place. someday ill take a trip to NYC

  • You should. Just stay away from times square and places like that because that is not where you'll find the kind of essence thats in this vid.

  • I lived there for a year at 74th St and 37th Ave. Your video brings me sweet melancholy...

  • I felt the same when I was putting this together. I constantly questioned myself as to why I ever left? More importantly how soon will I be getting back to it for good?

  • this video is cool^^
