  • Electric Car wins....... BY A LOT.

  • lol, an Ariel atom, the body is more of the reason why it's good, in fact it is unfair to pit anything against an atom electric or not...American auto knowledge..sheesh, im ashamed.

  • ARIEL ATOM. not electric car .. fuck off. 0-60 mph in 2.8s 320 hp and only 400 kg ...... logic that is better then a ferrari or a porsche

  • Wrightspeed X1 = Electric car using the Atom Chassis

  • would of been nice if they mentioned the revolutionary Arial Atom chassis.

  • you wrong =p

  • @adyhorus Thank You, Someone Know There Facts!

  • electric isnt the way forword hydrogen is

electric comes from big electriic stations wot pollut the enviroment and if we al change to electric more of them big stations need be made and that wil pollut the earth even more

  • how do you think hydrogen is made? that is grows on trees?

you use electricity to make hydrogen

  • Hydrogen is produced using coal, nuclear power, oil, or natural gas.

"Electricity generated by fuel cells costs, and would have to fall by a factor of 10 to become economically viable."

Fuel cells don't work well in freezing conditions.

Hydrogen, needs transporting = enviromental cost.

Electric cars use 80% power for propulsion, 20% is used on petrol cars. so it won't pollute more.

Clean up energy source, then problem solved. better to have the problem at one end rather than both.

  • Well, here in Norawy electrisity is created from waterfalls, which does not pollute!

  • @artifushion hey let me ask you something, in El Salvador we do the same thing. but isnt true that on summer the hydraulic plan needs gasoline to produce electricity>?

  • What a shame, both the Ferrari & the Porsche got pwned... Besides it didn't even polluted the environment at all during the race! hahaha tthey just need to work on the exterior of the car tho

  • poor ferrari lmao

  • of course the electric car is going to win it hardly weighs anything and it starts produces torque at 1 rpm. but it doesn't have the amazing sound of a internal combustion engine. I think no matter what that Ferrari, and Porsche won

  • are u kidding me? this is not an electric car, but the Ariel Atom, which has a Japanese gasoline engine in the back, hence the air intake between the seats. The only electric car that can compete with ferrari or porsche is the Tesla, or perhaps the Scorpion (hydrogen powered).

  • look up the white zombie.

  • Or the wrightspeed X1

  • boooooooooooooooooooo

  • How many energy consumes each vehicle in the race ?

Combustion engine have at least 20% efficiency... Electric engine about 80% or more...

How many pollution expend each car ?

The race was won by electric in several ways.

  • electric engine? u mean electric motor?

    there is a difference

  • You are right . Electric motor.

  • The electric car makes combustion engine sounds? wtf?

  • hey you look so hot i liked your ass mmm

  • No but the car racing against it did

  • Should've been open wheel electric vs. open wheel gas. Just think of all that extra mass in the Porshe and Ferrari...

  • All the effort that went into organizing this...it was deserving of better coverage.

  • this is the future !!!

  • @GlobalMod the future, from a video of the 90s ! xD

  • aguanten los caballos :X

  • The wrightspeed X-1 uses the Ariel Atom's chassis.

  • this is cool and all, but i agree with all or your objections. these drivers are either amatures or they were paid to look bad. The numbers explain it all. both the ferrari and porsche are sub 10 sec cars.

  • LOL they are NOT <10 sec in the quarter mile.

in any case, because the car is electric it has ALL torque and most of it's peak power available at 0 RPM, whereas the gas powered cars have to build up to their power band and peak tq/hp.

  • It is not strange because the Porsche's driver obviously can't quickly switch gears. As for the Ferrari, he doesn't know how to quickly accelerate without tire burn.

It seems like this guy chose the right people to race: amateurs with nice toys.

  • I'm no drag racer, but it seems strange to me that the Ferrari driver burnt his tires out on the takeoff, allowing an incredible headstart for the Wright; and the Porsche decelerated several times, until the Wright got well ahead. Anyone else notice this?
