  • I'm totally sure Pasquale stole the first two jokes about libraries and mars bars too.

  • Wow I just about had a heart attack when I saw his name in the related videos. This guy was my childhood bestfriends' father, I must have spent hundreds of days with him. Incredible nice, humble and funny man. Terrible cook.

  • Father Stone!

  • Fucking legend

  • Very funny, and a nice mention of Stewart Lee's observation.

  • Do I like this video? No... I'm fine, tanks.

  • BEN ELTON OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE. I hate you Ben Elton. I hate you so much.

  • Cheers for uploading this, he's a very funny man!

  • I heard Stweart Lee mention this guy (I think it was this guy anyway?) in a video on this site a few days back and I never had any idea it was the priest in Father TQed that got struck by lightning and "looks like a trophy" lol.

  • @fistpounder He also appeared in Stewart Lee's comedy vehicle.

He seems to be one of the few comedians out there that Stewart Lee actually likes and admires. And that seems to be worthy of a medal.

  • @yellowcougar18 Oh, the last line is not sarcasm, just a mark of genuine respect for the guy.

  • 00:12 "show us your willy"

  • I love how it starts off with everyone so unsure but by 3:40 he owns them.

  • I love the way the smart-arsed heckler at the start of the act realises he's just not up to 'topping' the jokes, because he's just a sad studenty twat with a braying voice and that's it - and after two minutes MR can dare to leave long pauses, because the audience don't know where the joke's going, and are concentrating on his words, and thus forget to try to be funnier than him in front of all their mates.

  • @jimdaw65 Haha, I noticed that too. Bet he felt like a right cunt

  • Would you like another cup of tea Paul?

    No. I'm fine.

  • I met him last night in the pub ;)

  • @realconor1978 ha, awesome

  • a small village just outside ireland hahahaha

  • There aren't enough like buttons in the world for this.

  • Ben elton is a great comedy writer

  • Pity Ben Elton ruined it at the end !

  • I wonder if he's packing a ton of ammo and machine guns under that coat.

  • 6 people watched this without their sound on...

  • Ah, so that's who Michael Redmond is.

  • Was this after he was struck by lightening?

  • before his time!

  • I'm fine thanks Ted.

  • He's like a wall with a moustache!

  • Now I see where Milton Jones gets it from :D

  • FATHER STONE!!!!

  • I was enjoying that until Ben Elton appeared.

  • @dylandior123 Hey, He co-wrote Blackadder

  • I still don't like Ben Elton.

  • That's Father Stone isn't it?

  • Elton is a bit of a lefty cunt but he knows how to write good comedy. Redmond was good though.

  • ben elton's a cunt

  • @Elborl HOLY SHIT THAT WAS HIM!?!?!?!?

  • his ' i phone book shops and if they ask can they help me i say i'm just browsing' joke was just tweeted by keith chegwin

  • Stewart Francis owes a lot to this man.

  • @12345l6789 Not really, not particularly similar.

  • @FreckletonBoy he does. a mixture of redmond and stephen wright.

  • I love this. The jokes are pure ephemera, though of course they are brilliant. The actual comedy and art is in the facial expressions (mainly twitches) set up by the overbearing costume, etc.

  • @wid85 lol thanks for expressing my views so i dont have to haha

  • Joe Pasquale stole the first joke or two as well.

  • Genius

  • Oh no, it's Father Stone.

  • Comment removed

  • know whats weird: stewart lee defended him from paquale's plaigarism. but the formulation of his joke about not really saying the funny thing to the tourist is like a couple of lee's jokes about not really saying the funny thing to the german in the cafe and not really saying the funny thing to the religious guy who knocks on his door. its not verbatim the same but the joke doesn't change significantly i think

  • @jafercom

Absolutely true, but that subject for a humour (thinking of a funny thing to say after the opportunity has passed) is much older than Redmond, much as I am impressed by him, and is, I would guess, one of those thing where the claim its part of the human condition might actually be true. Not to say Lee wasn't sparked by this, but that's its not a simple borrow/steal like get out of my garden was.

  • Father Stone!!!

  • a class act

  • one of mv favorite comedians

  • he is my dad

  • This guy is a genius!!! Fuck. Where is this dude now.??

  • Lives in Glasgow. Is a regular weekly preformer in The Stand in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

  • He does shows every Sunday night in a comedy club in Glasgow, Scotland.

    Still absolutely hilarious :D

  • A lot of people say to me...get out of my garden...

  • Bloody hell! Ben Elton looks like david koresh..

  • Superb. love it. Really lovely style and jokes

  • Nothing wakes me!

  • father stone

  • is he still a one-liner style comedian?

  • Ugh, that couple of seconds of Ben Elton *is* repulsive. I feel quite aggrieved.

  • Can someone explain the joke about the missing dog? loved the rest of it.

  • are you simple???

  • Yes. Also at 4:06 when he says sometimes it's hard to figure out what life is all about.. what does he say after that?

  • "What ever happened to Kajagoogoo."

  • my fave comedy routine

  • My uncle too:D

    Hi alex..

    X

  • Even that mere three seconds of Ben Elton was painfully aggravating. A monumental cunt. Redond's delivery is great, though!

  • this is my uncle :D

  • Can't tell whether or not you're joking, but if you're not, what a cool uncle to have. Comedians probably aren't so funny when they're off-stage though; they are just regular guys.

  • He also did a thing with owls that was ggrreat.

  • i lost some owls

  • yes, I remember that too - that's stuck in my memory over the years. It was on The Tube I think? All I can recall about it was it was a slide show of owls and one of the funniest things I've ever seen. If anyone has it, please post!

  • I thought that was Kevin McAleer? I could be mistaken though.

  • Where he pointed out where the wings were? Genius!

  • Thanks for uploading this. I've been looking for anything of his since I saw Stewart Lee's "Joe Pasquale" routine.

  • nice reminds me of chic murray

  • I hadn't thought about that until I read your comment but you have a point.

  • I had no idea that the much talked about Michael Redmond was father Stone. That's just great!
