  • Thanks for sharing. I'm buying 3 in. chamber for my wife and my sister is buying one as well. Your demonstration of capabilities was a deciding factor. You shot through 2x4's multiple times at 5-10 feet with 410 shot shells was impressive and shows good penetration abilities. It is also a realistic range an altercation would be initiated from since criminals usually use ambush tactics. The tight shot pattern would make hamburger meat out of some thug!

"SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND"

  • On the upside you don't have to worry about over-penetration.

  • Public Defender is the way to go!! Highly recommended!! (especially for women)

  • You sound like just standing up makes you winded.

  • @LuthianLightbriger His breathing? Where do you idiots come from? Let me know so I won't go there....You know nothing for anything beyond what you've created of yourself in your pathetic little mind. I'd laugh if you were able to say that to his face and get your butt kicked back to the hole you crawled out of.......by a winded man..........lol, go watch some cartoons or play some more video games.......

  • thank you, I was looking at getting one but see'ing this pentration at such a limited range changed my mind.

I'm sorry but my .22 air rifle goes through 2x4's 20 30 feet away, using 3000psi air of coarse

  • @Me102288 LOL Kind of hard to conceal carry a rifle & a compressor or do you use a scuba tank to fill it. Do you tell a carjacker he's going to have to wait a half hour while you get the compressor out of the trunk and load your bb gun? I would rather have a knife or even a big rock.

  • @taurusjudgement oh you thought I was making a comparison between the guns prolonged fire power...

Well if I did use it instead of my sig it would probably last longer then I could carry 9mm for that or by sig.

Other then that I was comenting on the penetration being surprisingly poor at that short of range.

  • @taurusjudgement Too right sir.

Also, in a self defense situation, you may not want anything coming out the other side. If you shoot a carjacker and you down him and a mother doing some shopping accross the street gets the over penetration in the face, you could have some problems (not to mention messed up in the head for killing someone's mother right in front of them). Me102288 can keep his air rifle. I will take the Judge. Thanks for the vid.

  • @Me102288 its not all about penetration. its also about stopping power and caliber

  • @shaveddave ya, I think I'm a bit bias on revolvers in the first place.

the gap between the cylinder and barrel has always bothhered me (escaping gas's)

but in the end run I think its capicity and reloading. Good question I guess, you figure 12x 9mm is equal, greater or lesser stopping power wise?

not a clue, maybe I'll just find some .68 cal ball bearings and unregulate my paintball gun from 350 to 800 psi...

figure a 3 pound ball at even 100 fps will put the biggest man down?

  • @Me102288 i dont like many revovlers but i like this one becuase of the versatility in different rounds you can use and its a handgun. the paintball things iv always thought about trything with my buddies paintball gun but never got a chance to because it was so expensive. you should really try that out and test it on various things.

  • @shaveddave ended up finding an old ball mouse laying around, the ball in it was about 1/2" think the steel is smaller since its coated in rubber,

anyway, it sounded odd going down a .68cal barrel but co2 expands out to 800 psi really fast, so's its more of a catapult then a gun. Hmm, I guess I'll try this summer withe proper sized ball bearings.

ps paintball isnt nearly as expensive as this "airsoft" stuff can be holy..

$1000 for a fake rifle thats shoots 6mm plastic balls

  • why are you constantly out of breath

  • HOLD THE CAMERA STILL PLEASE........

  • better shoot ya self, damn americans

  • @don2447 If you don't enjoy firearms, Americans, the right to bear arms, or the poster of this video, I'm sure your comments would be appreciated more elsewhere.

Perhaps those videos of the cameras they put up on every corner in England to passively watch as thugs commit crime on citizens they know for sure will be unarmed would be a more appropriate place for your comments.

  • @DiLLyDaLLyHo Well said.

  • 

  • bet u didnt know its illegal for deer to hunt people with 22's huh? haha

  • the biggest problem with the judge is the grovves of the barrel measure .454" and the .410 max bore is .430 also trying a .410 in such s short barrel does not get as much power as if it was in a shotgun

  • @camerl2009 It does at self defense ranges.

  • @wtg2989 nope i'll tell you that the dame thing might be geting 700fps maybe even less not just because of the short barrel be the over bore and groove of the barrel have gas blow by. if i buy one im going to have the barrel and cylinder lined to .410 smooth(i can do this here in canada as a handgun is flassed the same even if its smooth bore but in the US its a SBS with a smooth bore)

  • @camerl2009 i ment to say classed but my finger hit the F lol

  • @camerl2009 At certain ranges it penetrates farther than a .40 caliber. I'm aware that it loses energy as it travels, but at normal self defense ranges it is fine.

  • Dont know why but i really like this gun!

  • A revolver that can fire pellets? I´ve seen some revolver shells but they were blue (transparent, you could see the pellets inside it).

  • @CSnakeV look at casing (whatever, its not a CAR RIDGE

anyway, if you look at it, well you could any kinda metal in there..my favorite is flechete's

theyre a pain in the arse to make though.

or you could just do away with the shells totally and get a muzle loader.

Step 1 poor measure powder ammount in.

2 drop a few iron nails, lead ball(s), maybe a bit of horse or dogshit just to add bit of humiliation in with the mix (just use someone elses packing for the last part)

  • Think I'll stick with my 12g or my 45 auto

  • Good vid. But I think you should see a cardiologist to check you out. Best

  • cool video.. well done

  • basod2002 at 15ft the penetration is already minimal. One might be better off using the 45colt rd instead. Also 22lr has put plenty of folks 6ft under so dont think your going to walk away from a gunfight just because u have the bigger gun and a bullet has to penetrate deep enough to hit something a 22 will.

  • dude needs a bit of lotion

  • You do not want overpenetration in the Taurus. I do not think the next door neighbor would appreciate it. Great idea on the 45/70 and good bear deterrant at my ranch.

    Famousr

  • WAIT A MINUTE THE 45/70 LEVERACTION RIFLE COULD SHOOT 45 AMMO AND 410 AMMO

  • @TheMrhotcutesexyboy The chamber on a 45/70 is tapered and larger at the rear than a .410 causing the ,410 brass to to swell. By being longer the .410 fits deeper and when fired it seals into the narrow barrel. The .45 would fit loosely and the gases would probably escape out the rear of the chamber. The bullet might get stuck in the barrel or the round could blow up in the chamber.

  • Excellent review. That was more damage to 2x4's than I expected from a .410. I just bought a Taurus Judge and it looks like it will be a great self defense weapon. Thanks!

  • you can put a 410 shot shell in to the 45-70 and it is the same diameter???

  • @doughnutguy82 People have probably been shooting 2 1/2" .410s in their 45/70s for over a hundred years. Like it shows in the video the brass swells. Do it at your own risk!

  • Hand lotion?

  • considering that 22lr from a 4in revolver will go through a 2x4 at 25yds that buckshot load isnt too impressive maybe from a longer barrel

  • @m1garand1959 being that the 22 is probably copper jacketed it will go through and through. and it doesn't have any terminal energy to really stun anything. the judge wasn't intended for 25yd shot(which is extremely unlikely in and PD senario) but load it with 45LC JHP or hornady ballistic tip and see who walks away from a 25yd gun fight -The Judge or 22LR pistol. closer range encounter with PDX1 or 410 000 buck 5 shots is gauranteed to hit something while trying to aim the 22 you'll be duckin

  • would the .45 colt ammo be enough to take down big game such as deer or black bear?

  • @dreamz20091 I've shot a few deer with a .22. Shot a black bear with a .308 in the chest, he went up a hill a 1/4 mile, found him the next day. Saw a guy shoot a bear with a 30-06 4 times in the chest, he went another 100' before going down. People hunt deer & bear with .357s, a .45 colt is more powerful and makes a bigger hole. I would prefer a regular rifle in .30 caliber or larger.

  • @taurusjudgement your full of shit because using a .22 to hunt deer is ilegal

  • @MrHDL777 LOL-- What does being legal have anything to do with it?

  • This video tells the story of the Judge, the best. 3 different distances, and using 2x4's let's you know just how versatile it is (or isn't). You're right about not wanting to have to use any gun against another human being, although in self defense sometimes you have no choice, here's hoping you never have to and your gunplay remains recreational. Great video!

  • Great demo. Awesome defensive gun/ammo combo. I did a similar test and the results were the same. The Federal 000 buck keeps a accurate and tight pattern. I have great respect for what the Judge can do in and out of the woods. I carry my Taurus Public Defender everywhere now and leave my auto pistols at home. Great back-up gun for the deer hunter or bow hunter. The Judge is like "fire" ....Scary at first but very useful if you know how to use it correctly. The Judge works like no other!

  • Great video. it shown in slow detail the ballistics i could not see elsewhere on the web about this round. thanks

  • wont birdshot mess up the rifling in the barrel?

  • @spritrocks The shot stays in a plastic cup until it leaves the barrel, never touching the rifling. If you look at 1:40 you can see one stuck in the target.

  • @taurusjudgement oh yeah 4 real i forgot thanx 4 replying i really aprreciate it.

  • does that imply nonlethal?

  • @afullybleachedsoul I feel this gun is very lethal. What I should have said in the video is that I hope that I never have to use a gun in self defence but I would if I had to. That is why I have this revolver.
