I was thinking of getting this one to replace my Apex'i N1 because I wanted a more stock appearance, but I don't like that sound at all. My Apex'i was a lot quieter, even when I had a KA.
waht sucks though is that i was drifting earlier this week and lost control and went over a dirt berm which put a few bents on my down pipe, now i got back pressure and it sound like a honda civic (wrong wheel drive wanna be's) at 4k :(
I plan on puting this exhaust on my S13 coupe. I dont care if it loses sum torque cuz i plan on turboing it anyways so might as well buy the 3" and save sum cash. plus that car sounded awesome man, sucks its gone now :(
I have a fully built bottom w/minor head work(BC cams and dual vavle spring kit). i was wondering if this exhaust would be very quiet on my ka-t. i want something similar to rs-r exmag. you think this will be really quiet?
honestly, i cant say, but i know that any exhaust is quiter and more "mean" sounding when theres a turbo before the catback. it evens out the pulsations andll make it sound pretty damn sweet. i say try it, because its a nice looking exhaust.
Thanks, if i cant find a used rs-r exmag then i'm going for Circuit sports. also i took off my cat(delete-cat) so hope it's still going to be quiet. i used to have the buddyclub spec 2 and damn that shiit was loud even w/ turbo. thats why i sold it. and now i am exhaust-less.
sounds a bit loud I was thinking of this for my built sr20de. anyone know of any n/a exhausts that are quite? 3 inches would be ok for my car because it dynoed 182 whp at 7200 rpm. but on a ka I would definently go 2.5 they dont push enough air for a 3
they do push enough air for a 3". as stated above, three inch piping, even on an N/A ka24, shows power gains throughout the powerband without any decrease in torque. its all win.
probably because the camera is right behind the muffler. its not really all that loud, but the motor is overbored and rebuild, with a straight pipe and header.
Have you ever heard of a dyno? It's been proven and totally makes sense that you would not want to put 3 inch piping on a motor(NA) that small *unless* it was fully built and modded to the extreme where it's efficiency rate could process the volume of air needed to warrant such an extreme diameter. I work at a shop and always have to talk guys with their lil honda engines out of getting 3 inch piping. And 2.4L is a small displacement engine.
ya, I'm sure there are SMALL gains... IF you want to drive around at 5,500 rpm constantly around town. You lose a lot of low end power and torque, more loss than gains with that size of piping. No trying to start a fight, just stating what I see first hand and not read on forums.
it has been proven time and time again that three inch exhaust on an NA ka has gains throughout the powerband without any decrease in torque. a 2.4L four cylinder is NOT a small displacement engine by any means.
some of you guys need to learn your shit before you start stating claims you know nothing about.
take a chill pill ducatilover69 and go watch some ducati and porn videos instead

Dude your car sounds like SHIT!!!!! Why would you post a video of your car burning oil and sounding like SHIT?
ducatilover69 2 years ago
it wasnt burning oil. but it certainly sounded terrible.
i should post up this exhaust on my new setup, the same exhaust is on my second 240.

in case you didnt READ any of the replies ive posted to other comments.
the clip is louder than it should be due to a 3" resonated straight pipe, a pacesetter header, and poor cam/dizzy timing at the time of recording.
trust me, its not that loud. its a somewhat subtle, low rumble under the right conditions.

you arent going to lose any torque man. my coupe had some very nice low end.
and its not gone, the cars in my garage. im rebuilding the motor with forged bottom end for boost, swapping it into a 92 coupe i got.

Actually, iirc, several forums have had members post dynos with various exhaust piping sizes, and there were still gains being seen up to 3" on a KA.
