  • his face at .30 is the best...lol...shut up bitch...

  • Oh I'm glad they put in English, it's so clear now... because super high coloratura always yields way to crystal diction.

  • tom hulce did an excellent job of conducting the pieces throughouth the movie..

  • does anyone knows how this is called when maria callas sings this

  • 0:27 - 0:37

I love this transition! It is made so perfect!

  • I had a good laugh at saliere's facial expression at 2:30

  • the name of this beautiful opera?

  • @polikiliop The Magic Flute

  • @polikiliop It's the Magic Flute.. the scene is the Queen of the Night aria

  • @MakBDF You're wrong. The Welsh and Irish are not of Germanic descent. The English are of Germanic and Nordic descent. However the people of the British Isles have been mixing with each other for centuries, so they are a mixture of Germanic, Nordic and Celtic descent. I'm half English and half Welsh.

  • @RedBlackWhiteVision R1b haplogroupe is germanic DNA . Just google: distribution of Haplogroup R1b in Europe

  • I wish i could do that!..lol!

  • I'm 14 and I sing this almost every day

  • AMAZING ONLY!!!

  • AMAZING.....!!!

  • I went to see this in New York one time, it was sublime, magical and awesome!!! :))) I would do anything to see the original opening in vienna

  • I love this part of the movie!!

  • THAT IS IMPOSIBLE. OMG

  • @zerxolah What is impossible?

  • @zerxolah havent you seen the fifth element?

  • i love this movie about the beautiful man Amadeus

  • I want to sing like that...and be as good looking as Tom Hulce

  • 1:36 to the end is the best part vocally :)

  • omg

  • Der Hölle Rache! This transition is BRILLIANT! Love it.

  • Happy Birthday Mozart! You are the best! X

  • Wolfy the best i love you!

  • this is so beautiful it can bring tears to my eyes.

  • The story of The magic flute has many connections to the legends of the Freemasons. Both Mozart and his father was masons.

  • I love watching "Mozart" conducting the orchestra. You feel warmth from the singer and the Queen of the Night" BUT you feel HEAT from watching him conduct the orchestra. I love listening to the applause of a great performance.

  • i can do this too! :$

  • Забавно :))

  • i like 0:28-0:33, when he's realizing something amazing

  • Just wonderful! :)

  • 我最愛的電影之一!

  • is she singing in english? awful...

  • I haven't done research on Salieri and Mozart, but they shouldn't be called rivals if their skill levels aren't the same ;D

  • @OyonTheAdept Yes, she is. Incredibly insulting. And there is no way to see whether she is June Anderson or Louisa Kennedy as it says in the remastered CD's of the OST

  • @jfquirosreyes um, i think you replied to the wrong guy lol. its alright though

  • @jfquirosreyes ? i think you were trying to talk to neobenisichi01

  • fantastic super fantastic

  • how did mozart die??? was he poisoned? or was it the drink that killed him? i missed that in the movie!

  • @megaboxxx The movie has a lot of fiction, do not take it as an historical reference... And about the real cause of Mozart's death, there is not (and perhaps it never will) a single opinion. Wiki's article about Mozart explains my point.

  • The Christ of the Music.

  • FREAKING AGREE WITH CYRIUS999

  • one of the greatest aria ever written

  • This film is excellent and that is a really good scene, i remember years and years ago when i hadn´t seen the movie but just parts the only scene that i could remembered was this one at the beginning, when he turns the words of the woman into music..that was soo funny, anyway Tom Hulce was really great in this film!!

  • divine voice of June Anderson.

  • Wasn't Pamina supposed to be in the scene where the Queen sings Der Hölle Rache?

  • @StArMasteRz

She is mean't to be, but one assumes was not included in this scene for reasons of artistic licence. This film, and the play it is adapted from, was never intended to be anything even resembling a biography of Mozart's life. I imagine Peter Shaeffer never dreamed how huge his story of Mozart would become when he penned Amadeus for the stage. There is a very clever episode of The Simpsons which parodies the publics view of Mozart as shaped by this very film.

  • QUE HERMOSO,,CUANTOS NO DARIAN LOQ UE FUERA POR VIAJAR EN EL TIEMPO Y VER A MOZART DIRIGIR EN MISMISIMA PERSONA¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • The notes are higher than in the real movie, and the song is sung faster. Has anyone else noticed?

  • canvas FTW that means you also speak ducth xD

  • such a wodnerful art direction.

  • Never gets old!!! :))))

  • I LOVE the transition!

  • I don't get it. Constanze came from a musical family (her cousin was Carl Maria von Weber). Why doesn't her mother get music?

  • ENGLISH?!!

Mozart forgive them for they know not what they do....: (

  • @vonspre Amen!

  • NOTHING can be bigger.

  • 0:34 what is the piece´s name??

  • @amadeuseddie 'Der Holle Rache', the Queen of the Night's 2nd aria from Die Zauberfloete (The Magic Flute).

  • cazzo mozart era proprio un grande!!!!

  • She's totally not singing--her tits would be bouncing mightily at 1:50 at the high arpeggios.

  • translation indeed is a sacrilege.

  • Nie-by-wa-le

  • @azdb1234 Uwielbiam Mozarta a szczególnie ten fragment.

  • The best moment from the movie

  • whoa baby!

  • en la mente de un genio... hasta los gritos de una suegra, se pueden convertir en la `más hermosa música creada jamás en este mundo!

  • @TheTEREALBA es solo la pelicula, nada que ver con la verdadera historia.

  • The subtitles are Dutch. Apparently this is a take from Canvas (a Flemish public channel).

  • The opera was premiered in Vienna on 30 September 1791 according to Wikipedia so it's 218 years ago.

I think it still sounds as perfect, powerful and beautiful as then.

  • Wikipedia isn't a very good source of info, but perfect, powerful and beautiful.

  • Apparently, only four female singers in the world are capable of singing this aria. Our singer Diddú is one of them.

  • Im another

  • the Magic Flute debuted 298 year ago today.

BTW this is where I heard this aria for the very first time.

  • same here.

  • it wasn't that long ago, if it was 298 years ago it would have been 1711, Mozart was born in 1756.

  • Why does she sound like Kyle in the South Park when she speaks ?

  • xD Haha, so true.

  • Definetely the best scene of Amadeus.

  • lol I loved it,his inspiration by his mother's preaching n stuff lol...I love this one,der holle rache,I think Inva mula tchako would be excellent for this role...

  • diana damrau is the best queen of the night

  • hmmm, have you heard Lucia Popp? she was completely good...one of the best sopranos

  • i have and i think she is very good, but i absolutely love damraus voice. she fills it with so much energy and emotion

  • hmmm, have you heard lucia popp singing this one? the cleanest high notes I've ever heard...

  • i have heard her sing it, and i think she is the second best at it. Diana Damrau just fills her music with such passion and emotion. Its like the notes just flow out of her.

  • See also on this channel: Mozart - Aria della regina della notte - Der hölle rache . That is the same song.

  • No. 14, Aria of the queen of the night, from the Magic Flute/Die Zauberflöte.Mozart

  • What song is the lady singing?

    i love this movie! (:

and i love this song. but i cant seem to find the name of it :/ can anyone help me?

  • Hulce is alive and well and living in NYC he is a big fat daddy bear and he just hepled produce and bring Spring Awakening to Broadway.

  • Is it true that Hulce died of AIDS?

  • THANKS!

One of my favorite films.Mozart is my favorite composer. When I saw this film at 16 the entire audience seemed as enthralled as I was-no one left their seats until the credits ended. Seeing Die Zauberflote at the Volksoper in Vienna was amazing-the Queen of the Night is supposed to be menacing and that soprano scared everyone as soon as she rose out of a trapdoor onstage!

  • Tom Hulce did a great job in that movie !

  • Great :D

  • Is this movie any good?

It looks like I would enjoy it but I need to know if its good or not

  • this is a nice costume film with good dialogues, funny jokes and a good play of actors, especiallly I like Saliery xD

but the whole story is fully made up, 'cos I'm sure Saliery never killed Mozart! xD

  • its awesome:)

  • It's the best movie I've ever seen. Seriously.

Forman did a great job bringing Shaffer's play to film.

    :)

  • It is fantastic, you must see it. A 5 of 5 no doubt.

  • You'd be a fool not to avail yourself the opportunity to view this magnificent film. Grab this DVD, grab some popcorn and lots of soda, set aside a night to watch this, and enjoy. It was great today as it was back in the 80's. JMHO...

  • It's one of my favorite movies; however, there is a lot of fiction mixed in with the facts.

  • My favorite movie ever !!! Tom Hulce was simply superb in it !!!

  • amazing movie!!! and one of the best parts too!

  • What movie is this from?

  • amadeus by milos forman

  • A movie called Amadeus, its about Mozart!

    Great movie!

  • amadeus

  • Amadeus

  • Adoro os agudos, me deixam completamente arrepiado! Que música sublime, divina!

  • Genius!

  • His music is DIVINE

  • Thank you Austria for the most magnificent catholic composer in the world.

  • Well although he did wundebar catholic music, he betrayed the faith and became a freemason.

  • I heard something about this sad fact. Hard to find proofs then . On the other hand a freemason often tells lies. It is useful for them, that people thought that all talented people then there are freemasons. However we know that talent is given from God , but not from satan.Mozart is also known as a frequent guest for a Papa in Rome.

  • When he was 14 he was given some medal by the Pope. It was part of some lay order. BWT the Magic Flute is part of the freemason story.

  • I agree. Our Lady Holy Vergin Mary rules.

    Good night.

  • I was going to point that out, but you beat me to it lol

  • lol... love the begining :). June anderson rocks. However, Popp with Bohm is so much better... the best perhasp. Great post. Thanks for posting this! Kind and warm regards,

  • I kindly request, that trolls did not write on this channel. On YT are many other nazi , communist etc channels.

  • This is a magical moment and seems to take you into Mozart's creative process--the result one of the greatest and earliest

    bel canto arias ever.

  • ik heb een hekel aan dit stukje door mij ckv leraar...hij is geobsedeerd door dit stukje en wij moesten het 18 keer kijken ...HET ZELFDE STUKJE!!!!

  • Such great movie.. such great music...

  • I welcome an English version of the lyrics. Not that I dislike the original German in any way, I just think it's nice to see other languages's takes on the aria. Hell, I'd like to hear a French, a Latin, a Chinese version.

And what a great movie this is :)

  • That is not German, that is Holland

  • The subtitles at the beginning is indeed Dutch, the spoken language in the clip is English, and the aria is song in English as well. Are we talking about the same thing?

When I refer to the original German version I mean the original lyrics as penned down by Mozart.

  • Oh yeah Dutch, lol yes you are right. Sorry my bad :)

  • Yes!!! ;) I don´t understand Holland!!

English and German have almost same

    Languane!!!

    Greeting Michele Ivan ;)

  • English is my native language, but I studied German and whenever I see Dutch, I always think of German, not English.

  • y u definitely right , its obvious

"de koningin van de nacht" dutch

    "die königin der nacht" german

"van" means "von" in ger nut we dont use 2 say

    "königin von der nacht"

  • Despite the innacuracies, I love the movie's staging of it: so dramatic. The queen could be dressed in white to show moonlight. Nightime isn't always pitch black.

  • I 'd prefer in English, at least something I understand. In addition Mozart was Austrian but not German. And then sounds little different.

  • at the time germant an austria were part of the holy roman empire and austria was a german country

  • Austria only at times of Hitler was part of Germany. Did you not hear of the Austrian empire? German state (Deutschland) takes place from Teutonic Order (Deutsche Orden). After extermination of slavonic people prussow accepted the name of Prussia.

  • u must be retarded, dont teach ppl about history if u dont know anything! ok ?

and look a map of this time , and then tell me ur shit again

salzburg (were mozart was born) belonged 2 Bayern at that time, his father is from Augsburg (belonging 2 bayern till today)

so pls dont post bullshit here

MOZART IS GERMAN from head 2 toe totally german

and austrians are a german tribe, so whole austria is german till this day, and so are parts of (ugly) Poland german (königsberg,Danzig,Stettin etc.)

  • Are you OK? You say that "Danzig" (Gdańsk), "Stettin" (Szczecin) etc are german? Yeah, and maybe France, Denmark, Belguim, Norway, and Rusia, not counting former Yugoslavia countries. I'm Polish and I see that "Danzig", Stettin" are not german. You can visit them as a tourist, not as an owner.

The history is clear. Do not teach it if you don't know it well. You were lucky to survive in 1945 because you shouldn't survive. Greetings from Polish Gdańsk to Dirkovic in ugly German.

  • lol i dont care what u polish bastard say , haha

Danzig is german and will allways be german

but since you poles live there this city is ugly like your whole country allways has been and i never said france norway , etc are german or should be german

learn better reading u retarded polish twat

  • You are quite funny. But ok - I will not laugh at you because you are really poor. You cannot face the truth so maybe try another war? But you must remember that the two previous wars weren't very lucky for you, ha ha ha.

You said nothing about France and Norway etc, thats's true but I don't understand it - shouldn't they belong to Great German People with the other parts with Europe?? Gdańsk and Austria are German but what about everything else? hahaha. Little german you have a problem haha.

  • lol u are rly brainless dude

utalk big but u dont know anything

but its like i said before in poland there are most ppl degenerated us a

ive never spoken of germans as the "herrenvolk" or anything , u just tell pathtetic lies here , shame on you poor twat

but i think u ppl from lower culture, like poland is without ANY DOUBTS, are just enviers

u are flaming like an envier here

just spend more time in education instead of hate , mabe u poles get any day some culture 2 xD

  • and im saying it once again mozart WAS GERMAN AND WILL ALWAYS BE GERMAN HAHA EVEN if u lil hater kid wont get it

and austria will also be always be german as will be DANZIG STETTIN AND KÖNIGSBERG , list goes on

now go on and check on utube for some of the greatest (german xD) composers ever lived like mozart or beethoven or bach or haydn , and learn some about real culture

and stop beeing an envier , or u will die sooner hehe

  • and 2 your messed up and retarded statement on wwII and hitler lemme say you:

poland always sucked balls in history, in present and also will do in future cuz you are a folk full of primates

so stop now pls talkin about the history of my ancients , u can listen 2 em (and hate em because they are german and not polish xD), but u cant teach me about them

and lemme say you, your words will never hurt me cuz i spit on ppl like u

i only feel sry for u sad case

  • And we invite you to Gdańk. Mabe you will see any german flag in the city because I truly cannot see any. Oh, and maybe you'll see an old house of your family? haha

Now I understand why Russians call Berlin the russian city.

And Polish bastard is always better than german bastard. Greetings my little geman boy.

  • And one more thing - the only Austrian that belongs to you is not Mozart but your dear fuhrer Adolf. He must be still popular in your funny country because as I see some german pretend to be 'herrenvolk' till now.

And your language my little Dirkovic is so 'polite' and 'sophisticated' that it's known from the first glance that you're from Germany. But what can we expect from you, jealous, agressive, funny little man with huge complex. You don't have to respond, I won't lose time to read it.

  • @MakBDF by a German country I mean it was an independent German city state which a was also a germen speaking and culture nation. Also they are from the same descendant.

  • @tim32211 But Mozart was Austrian. Similarly, Ukrainians and Belarusians until the 18th they were just Poles living in one united Kingdom of Poland and currently they are independent, separate nations.

  • @MakBDF Yes you are correct one your one reply but Austrian and German are the same thing.

Austria was a state of the Holy roman empire and was of German desendence. It was and could still be considered a German state. And to let you know the big mistake you are making is that only in the united states the states form a country. Everywhere else a state is a single, independent nation.

So Mozart can be considerd Austrian which he is but is also the same as

    German.

    I

  • @tim32211 I am afraid that if you called Captain von Trapp, a German, he would be angry. Austria had many wars against Prussia. Generally, Austrians do not like the Germans, among others for the fact that they try to steal Mozart. Moreover, Germany is the most heretics, and the Austrians are Roman Catholics. Catholics are the light of World , like for example Mozart was.

  • You're an idiot, sir. Mozart was a German, a German and a German. Nothing else.

  • @HerrWagnerfreund Du sozialistische nazionale Schweinenhund. Beautiful catholic Austria was only one short time part of Germany during 2ndWW, and it wasn't very nice time.Almost half of world speak spanish language and spanish people do not claim that it is part of Spain. 1/3 present population of BRD according newest DNA test are pure polish, and what ?

  • But the beautiful catholic Austrians called themselves Germans until 1945. Funny, ain't it? Mozart called himself a German, so did Emperor Joseph II, Maria Theresia, Gustav Mahler and so on. A Catholic Hund like you might not understand it but that's how it is. Mozart wrote: "If Germany, my beloved fatherland, of whom you know I am proud, will not accept me, then must I, in the name of God, again make France or England richer by one capable German - and to the shame of the German nation."

  • @HerrWagnerfreund It's nice that Mozart was a patriot, but are you sure he saying this, meant the Prussia and Berlin, and your flag? I doubt it. You see, I like the Austrians but Germans not very much. For me it's a big difference. All western European languagesare built on the Latin. So, Germany still belongs to Italy, that's good news.We Poles are using the same. own language for thousands of years and we do not have to change the flag and national emblem hundreds of times.

  • Sir, firstly Mozart obviously regarded himself a German. Secondly, German is a Germanic and NOT a Romanic language. Our language is therefore not built on Latin but on the Germanic language. So are Danish, Swedish, Norse, Icelandic and old English.

  • @HerrWagnerfreund Herr,in Europe lives two basic ancient people: Germanic DNA Haplogroup R1b and Slavic R1a. Pure germanic people are in Wales, Irland,Spain, France. German speaking population is 1/3 pure slavic (I guess blond haired) and the rest is mixture germanic-slavic. I repet all western Europe languages are from latin. Have you heard about Roman Empire? Romans couldn't beat slavic tribes , that's they are not part of latin speaking commonwealth like you, roman citizen

  • This is wrong and nothing but wrong, sir. German is a Germanic language. Every scientist who investigates languages can tell you this. Have you ever heard of the Indi-Germanic linguistic family consisting of Celtic, Slavic, Germanic, Romanic and Greek languages? We do not speak Latin or a Latin-based language.

  • @HerrWagnerfreund Indo-European languages are all present european languages including german and polish. Do you see any similarity between them?DNA tests destroyed all previous theories about european nations. Some fairy tales about celts, druids etc.Until XVII century Rome (Pope) classify wrongly Poles as Germans, like ancient Rome did before.English, german, spain language etc are from latin, check it in wiki.

  • @MakBDF what a thing to get in an argument over, just enjoy the fucking music!
