After watching Christy fight, I have a TON of respect for her. The fight is physically disproportionate and she did more than anyone could've possibly expected.

Christy Martin is a lightweight, so the win means nothing. The only positive for Christy is a good payday. The promoters of fights like this should be banned from boxing. The miss-match with Joe Frazier's daughter was another abomination. If I'm not mistaken, Frazier had no ring experience, and was 20 lbs lighter. This isn't boxing, it's Ali worship.

The only reason this fight was made was purely for money due to them being the only two marketable women names. Anybody who knows boxing knew Martin had zero chance being that she had never fought above 144 and fought Laila at 160 which is all but unheard of in boxing.

i dont agree when people say she's "Like Father Like Daughter" she's nothing like Muhammad Ali because Laila Ali only cares about undefeted record 24-0 she could of fought Ann Wolfe (24-1), Vonda Ward (23-1), Leatitia Robinson (15-1) or Natascha Ragosina (22-0)but has always found ways of avoiding them. btw i'm a huge fan of Laila Ali but has disappointed me in failure to fight the top contenders over the years:(

The only reason this fight was made was purely for money due to them being the only two marketable women names. Anybody who knows boxing knew Martin had zero chance being that she had never fought above 144 and fought Laila at 160 which is all but unheard of in boxing.

Ali is a terrific machine. But Christy Martin as well was great in this bout . Ali and her traded some bullets salvos reminiscent of Borodino battle between Napoleon and Kutuzow. It's only too bad Ali could'nt meet Martin in her prime.
