It's most likely a Lenco planetary 4 speed... three "tall" angled levers canted towards driver in forward position = 1st gear; pulling each "longest" lever back shifts to next gear. Note when he burns out, only the middle of the three levers is forward.... 2nd gear engaged to get the tires spinning in the water and is shifted to 3rd on second half of burn out. Small lever is reverse. And there IS a clutch... to get the car moving only, once rolling, shifts are sans clutch.
@34lilpapi34 wrong, if he did that it would take off. Before the line the track is wet, just to get the spin going without the car going, then as the car moves a bit further it burnouts on the dry track, making the tires warm.
@flchaptersdmf In addition to what crash7949 said, there's usually adjustable ignition setting controls in very advanced cars to manage the ignition computers and if you watch his hand position and listen to the hissing sound at 1:14, it's pretty clear he's purging the nitrous system.
@micvelo as for the nitrous purge your wrong its a blower car and blower cars dont run nitrous he was turning off the fire bottles which you dont need after a good run so the hissing you hear is the pressure from the fire bottles worked on 2 blown pro mods before no what i'm talking about
@savagemosher92 Hmm.... well OK then. I stand corrected (I think). Been out of a race car a long time but it seems odd to shut down fire bottles (?) Thought current SFI appr.systems were internally pressurized (always available) and the extinguishing agents were liquifed gas (except for AFFF) so the only venting of the system was upon activation. But what do I know... I raced sports cars 25 yrs ago... we had dry chemical handhelds hose-clamped to the rollbar... ;=)
@micvelo not really most drivers do it i have always been the crew guy turning the bottles on before firing up the car and the bottles were always shut off after the run the drivers always turn them off after a run even ion a nitrous car they turn off the fire bottles the bottles have a normal valve handle that they reach over and turn after they are going into the shutdown area or return road
Haha that's my dad driving in that in car.. Look at some of our other videos on my account lvpromod1013.. You will also find me there in my Malibu .. Enjoy
@corotor12345 They are for shifting the transmission. The shortest one looks like for reverse. The others are each single gear. There are four gears. And at the end of his run, he puts the transmission in neutral by the looks of it as well.
WOW!!!!!!!!

how does he do a burnout
nathan62697ify 9 months ago
@nathan62697ify You can see with his left leg that he has a clutch and he just revs it up and releases the clutch and does his burnout.

That is amazing! Thank you.
What sort of G's are you pulling on acceleration and deceleration?
Have a look at the way the seat belts get pinned against him and then released and the end of the run.
BALLS!
