Yeah, this is pure crap. Either Paul condemned Timothy to hell by circumcising him or it's a matter of personal preference and culture whether you want to do it or not (depending on the Jews in the area). But in either case, then Paul is wrong and does not boad well for a prophet of the Bible
so why do we all get cut then hmmmm? it's because of the prmoinent christian beliefe in it. so make up your mind, either paul changed his mind in favor of it or we all suffer from hypocrits
I was always taught that the bible was infallible. But I guess, according to your video, and what I suspected all along, it is indeed FALLIBLE - ultimately written by MEN and NOT god... I KNEW IT!!! Thanks for clearing that up for me...
So Paul who is guided by the holy spirit changed is mind ??? or did the holy spirit change its mind, therefore changing Pauls mind ??? If its Paul, then he is not a good listener, we should not listen to him. If its the holy spirit that changed its mind, then we need another holy spirit, a holy spirit that actually knows what god wants.
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of Good Report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, Think On These Things. Rom 14:19 and 1Ths 5:11 God bless you brother
At first, I thought, why even waste time debating with an unbeliever who looks to belittle the holy book.....but after watching how well you are handling it and explaining scripture passages, I say continue. You are now the professor! Just don't make it personal though.
NJR - to be honest - this stuff is so poorly put together that I didn't bother with it before - but I am bothering with it now because his 'fan base' insisted I was afraid of tackling his criticisms... hopefully some of them will realize - MTH's BBB series is as irrelevant as can be.
I agree with the notion that even as believers we can be ignorant of scriptures. A lot of "believers" don't even read the bible! So I think you're doing a good justice to look at what it says and explain it in a clear concise way.
his YT name is ProfMTH - meaning Professor MTH - I am clueless what the MTH means - but I refuse to refer to him as Professor considering his tactics.
Where exactly in the bible does it state this? If it doesn't (which is the case), then I find it amazing that you would purport to know Paul's mind
Did he reveal himself to you in a dream, or are you simply making this assertion b/c it suits your conclusion?
I'm quite disheartened by fact that many theists simply claim to know what various bible characters intended or even thought including god almighty himself. Pretty audacious to do so, eh?
@LetReasonPrevail1 The Bible states this by way of the fact that one place he said one thing and later said another - about the same subject - thus demonstrating a change of mind... What do you call a change of thought other than a change of mind?
Your bring up a very interesting point. Namely, if your claim is correct, then the bible documents it's main preacher changing his mind. As such, this directly calls into question the godly inspired nature of Paul's writings & ideas of faith contained in the bible
If this is mearly his opinion which he has every right to change, then what other parts of the bible are not divinely inspired but are simply the opinions of the men who wrote them?
The same goes for the purely myth-like fables found int the OT such as the tower of babel, great flood, race of giants, talking snakes, jonah & the whale, etc.
The moment you admit that these are not literal (which I defy any intelligent, thinking person to do while maintaining one shread of their intellectual honesty), then you open the pandora's box of what else in the bible is completely fictional
This is how the house of cards comes crashing down in my opinion
You realise that you're full of shit Right...He's got you dead to rights and you're whineing like a little Girl......

He admits he didn't research this one, and it really shows. Paul changed his mind? That's his defence? LOL

Chris, thanks very much for the response.

@LetReasonPrevail1 well put mate. rationalization and denial seem to help non-believers deal with their cognitive dissonance.
