To be honest I'm pretty disappointed with my pair...

The sound quality is not great. Get a set of sennheisers or even the ax720. The 720 sounds noticeably better.

My headset just does not turn on. I have all of the cables plugged in but the headset does not light up and I can't hear anything out of it. The decoder box is on and so is the mic, but the in line controller and the ehadset do not light up.

I'm not deaf but because English is my 3rd language I sometimes miss what people say and my reading/writing skills are twice in score than listening so whenever I miss what someone said I quickly look at the subs. I always watch things with subs just in case someone with an accent or someone who talks fast comes along. It beats to rewind it in the long run. Epic movies like 300 however, its worth rewinding because of the sub taking space of the great epic images.

I've connected my PS3 to my TV using an HDMI cable, and lets say I connect the Tritton headset to my PS3 using an optical cable. Will i be still able to have the sound come out of the TV??

This is useful when i'm playing with friends online using the Tritton headset and people in my room wanna watch the game and enjoy with sound.

Is there a built in mic or do i have settings wrong or something? As long as the Xbox live cable runs from the controller to the volume hub the rest of the team gets horrible echo from me. When playing black ops on a medium-high volume level to hear the enemies, Every time the announcer says something, ie 'Spy plane ready', 'sentry gun on the way', 'pick it up 141'!, It comes thru on the mic, as if i said it myself. is this as a result of my mic volume too high, or my master volume too high? cause neither are at their max. Sound alright for consoles and movies, but since the drivers are pointing in the same direction, the sound positioning is worthless. However when used with an XFI sound card on PC, they sound amazing. Worth it? I would rather buy a pair of Sennheiser PC 360's or anything more dedicated to sound quality.

Of course there are high class HIFI headsets, but without a mic to be used in gaming and without true 5.1.

@Welxx There are several choices, the AD700 and the HD555 are the best one for gaming and musics in this price range.

The "true 5.1" is real, but with 5 speakers in headphone the driver quality isnt so good, the soundstage of an AD700 is bigger than the "true 5.1" of these ones.

You can use a zalman mic-1, for the microfone.

@Blademastell You can try and AD700 or a Hd555 on ebay, there is a seller gadgetbliss, he ships worldwide, and you pay no taxes because he send as a "gift".

The AD700, have an very big soundstage, so you will be able to hear everything, and believe me, when I say evereything is everything, but his bass isnt good. And the HD555 has less soundstage and more bass.

@Yondaimeku Like I sad, I dont know how the xbox sound works, and Im afraid I cant use HDMI and a normal headphone with jack 3.5mm, you'll have to use component video/audio, so I think that unfortunately USB headsets will be fine.

But for PC, there is much more options, like a AD700, a HD555 or the HD595, you will be fine with one of these three.

But if you have a TV with a P2 output, or a receiver, you can use everything you want. With a better quality than gaming headphones.

You can also connect a DAC(Digital Audio Converter) or a headphone amplifier to the xbox via optical output, or the RCA output. There are plenty of options to use real quality headphones o the xbox or PS3
