This game really reminds me of "Tachyon: The Fringe" in terms of game mechanics.
X-Wing: Alliance was always my favourite because it's Star Wars and I'm a shameless Lucas whore, but Tachyon was probably the best space sim I've ever played.
This game looks fun. As for realism; that went out the door as soon as they introduced space fighters. Whatever form interstellar warfare takes it won't include fighters.
Nice looking i'd have to see more but i (in my humble oprinion) prefair FreeSpace as theres more of a sence of scale but id have to see more as i sayed :)
@KatayokoNoTenshi If you want space flight, try evochron. Thats a more technical space sim. This is more of an arcade one. I'm for one glad this one has an afterburner.
@AvoidanceProtocol Evochron has an afterburner too, though the way it's set up you can rarely tell whether or not you're moving. Which is more simmy, I suppose.
Have you ever played Bridge Commander? It is a really amazing Star Trek space combat sim. The controls are very good, they use firing arcs. You have to manouver properly when your shield quadrants are taking a beating. I wish Star Wars would do something similar. You should try it of course if you haven't
@Snapwave Snap loves when you talk about how awesome Bridge Commander is. But seriously this game looks pretty smooth and has a bit of a Metroid Prime meets the BSG reimagined TV series vibe to it.
It reminds me of serie Colony Wars

@KatayokoNoTenshi You generally don't in these games. It's more arcade-style.

@BrianD0313 I never got Bridge Commander working, but I did play STO, which has the same starship combat mechanics. Tons of fun.
