  • Everything sounds on front speakers...

  • *vomit* My fucking onkyo speakers STILL sound like sheet.

  • YES, IT WORKS, NOW SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • Youtube doesn't support 5.1 if you hear it is because your sound card has some sort of virtual surround mode on.

  • Does not work.

    FAKE AND GAY.

  • @111roshan111 i know u r fake & gay...

  • Thanks man

  • Finally, someone who knows the difference between a test and a 'demo.'

  • I have a X-Fi titanium sound card and Z906 Logitecht speaker system. This does not work for me. I can hear 5.1 in Games and Movies but not this video. Doesn't work on Anolog and S/PDIF with DDL.

So i don't know if everybody is lying about 5.1 but this doesn't work for me.

  • @1MaJoBa1 Works for me using onboard sound :P (5.1) z906's

  • @LCBChef18 Can you please describe how? did you turned a kind of fake 5.1 sound on and whitch browser doe you use?

    PLease request!

  • @1MaJoBa1 You probably already know this but under the "stereo" area make sure you push the button until the '3D" Lights up. I'm using Google Chrome. Also in my sound manager (Realtek HD Sound Manager) I had to configure it in a way that lets it know i'm using a 5.1 speaker setup.

  • @LCBChef18 Thanks, but when i select 3D i get a weird combination of sounds. But thanks anyway!

  • @1MaJoBa1 Sure man I hope you get it figured out..

  • Youtube does not support 5.1.

I did a test in the default audio setup and my surround worked, but it did NOT here, I have a 5.1 SOUND CARD, and my speakers are setup correctly. Therefore youtube does not support 5.1 surround sound.

  • Youtube doesn't support 5.1. this is what happend to me:

Left/center/right front speakers are ok but the speakers in the back are giving their sound but also the sound of the other speaker.

  • @1MaJoBa1

it does support it just gotta configure it right

  • yeah 5.1!!bitches.

  • The uploader with the 21 likes... no. Youtube only supports stereo. 2.1 Just like to teach the n00bz something you are misleading them on

  • Youtube doesn't support 5.1 it converts it down to 2.1 if you check both the left ones and both the right ones will be working at same time.

  • this is not 5.1 i have the same test on my pc and this only sound in 2 channels

  • my 2.1 set is kinda creepy... i play 5.1 on 2.1 and it sounds exactly like 5.1!!!! SCARRYY!!!!!!

  • My speakers are tv speakers but they have a DD decoder in them so it works fine =P

    Never knew youtube supported ss

  • i have installaed 5.1 creative sound card and speakers also.but youtube not supporting this 5.1

    surround. what will do?pls reply

  • very helpful

  • I have 5.1 speakers and it works in my windows media player but not in youtube ??

  • i want this system give me that :p

  • Great test! It even works with my Soundblaster X-Fi's CMSS 3D and stereo Headphones. I can very easily distinguish the front and rear audio effects.

  • :/ I only got front left, front right and centre on my Onkyo system. No sub, and surround both come through front right. Is there something I'm forgetting? I'm running it through HDMI from my laptop if that helps

  • @rhodes167 tried a .ac3 surround test file and that works no problem. i blame the youtubes

  • @rhodes167

no same here on yamaha amp. this isnt 5.1 i dont think youtube supports a dolby or dts stream in their videos, ar atleast not digital. cause when i connect it straight to the receiver without decoding on the pc the receiver should start decoding the youtube signal but it doesnt so no digital 5.1 on this :) (not true spdiff and not true hdmi)

  • lol rear sound is mono...

  • everythings works logitec

  • all the sound is coming from my front left & right Plus i only got them yesterday (Christmas)

  • Logitech surround test xD have the same

  • "Oh, Shit!!" my laptop has 5.1

  • my center speaker doesn't work at all... i think my motherboard is kinda broken then

  • Nope, i still just have 2 speakers! lol

  • works liek a charm now ;)

  • It doesn´t work :(

  • good but there was no sub sound

  • True, Youtube doesn't support 5.1 it's the software that emulates it poorly giving a fake 3d sound. You can hear all sounds come from each speaker, not individually.

  • God this is awesome :D

  • 5.1 Headphones? Is that a whole system in your headphone? :O

  • all 5 doing sound but now subwoofer:) ?

  • @sergei291 5.1 headphones...sigh....clueless people are clueless...

  • @derbigpr500 what u mean? i also have 5.1 headphones with 4 speakers on each side.

Speedlink medusa nx 5.1 which work perfectly with dolby digital

  • @dimos47ki7 What i mean is they dont create surround sound. No headphones create real surround sound, not even 2000$+ models plugged into best headphone DAC's and amplifiers in the world. All your speedlinks do is get signal for different channels, which in the end sounds exactly the same as normal headphones. 5.1, 7.1, surround sound headphones or similar stuff are just marketing tricks to trick people who dont know what real surround sound sounds like.

  • @derbigpr500 To explain it better, you hear all the channels, like, you hear the rear left, rear right, etc. But you dont hear those channels as if they were BEHIND you, you hear them as if they were left or right to you, and then the headphones process the sound coming to those channels and give the sound artificial changes, to make it sound like its coming behind you, but its actually not, and the result is identical to any "non-surround" headphone and its not real surround sound

  • @derbigpr500 ok i get what u mean, and i agree.

yes they may actually sound perfectly similar to surround, but u saying that they do not reproduce "original" surround sound, since the speakers are only left and right (inside headphones).

although i will disagree about the "same result" u saying compared to a typical stereo headset. mine sound waaay better in "suround" mode than the typical stereo headphones, and i can actually feel the direction of sounds

  • @dimos47ki7 You should try better "regular" headphones then. :P I assure you that you will get better "surround" sound from normal headphones (a little more expensive ones) with 1 driver on each side than with any surround headphones. I had Logitech G35 surround headphones for gaming for a while, which are one of the most expensive surround headphones, and my HD650 Sennheiser's blew them away in terms of surround, soundstage and especially in terms of general sound quality.

  • @derbigpr500 too bad i just bought these headphones. but eitherway i couldn't afford to buy the HD650 (i am sure they are in a different league), and i haven't tested any high quality headphones, since i only use them for gaming, so i will take your word on that matter . if the ones i have break down i will consider getting some normal stereo headphones. thx for the info :)

  • @sergei291 me too

  • I just installed a 5.1 system (Logitech z506) and only the left and right front speaker plays during this video... When I test the system in windows>sound it works fine (it plays on one speaker at the time), have I done something wrong?

  • mfw people think hallway effect = 5.1 surround sound

    :|

  • This is not surround sound, if you extract the video from youtube at its highest quality and open it with media info the audio track is a AAC audio track with two channels. If this was surround it would have 6 channels.

  • only mono for me and i do know my 5.1 works

  • except the sub everythin works just fine

  • The only problem I had is the side speakers were opposite for me, but as per the software settings they are on the correct sides...

  • works for me

  • works fine

  • Comment removed

  • this is stereo all day long

  • im using my 5.1 and it works for everything exept youtube and itunes

  • @TheMrMcRandam same

  • @sergei291 Thank you!

  • what happen to the sub

  • Yutube DOES support 5.1 guys ;) To listen properly you have to have installed a 5.1 surround system and configure it properly! Thanks!

  • @montelomanis matrix decoder and virtuall sorround make this ;)

  • @montelomanis @sergei291 Youtube doesnt support 5.1

    Your software is emulating it

Sergei that isnt real surround and way its virtual so of course you'll hear it

  • @montelomanis yeah your right, fake 5.1 aka virtual 5.1 you need a opticle cabel coxal or a multichannel RCA set up or its only virtual surround, e.g. dolby pro logic 2 is NOT real surround but only virtual surround sound. and youtube dose not surrport digital OR multichannel surround so its NOT real surround, but sounds like it.

  • @montelomanis no it is not.. try downloading the vid and check the format/number of audio channels.

  • @montelomanis DOES NOT SUPPORT...........ADOBE FLASH PLAYER DOES NOT SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @montelomanis

So even if you have a sound card that supports 5.1 (7.1) and some good capable headsets you will never hear 5.1 surround sound when playing any YT vid?

  • @montelomanis Does not according Youtube (google "can youtube play 5.1 surround")

"YouTube streams in stereo. Uploading 5.1 has even been suspected of causing an occasional glitch in video processing. "

I think you have some surround effects enabled in your sound card settings, thats why you have "surround" effect with youtube videos.

  • @montelomanis Your wrong it doesn't, look it up. If you hear 5.1 it's because your sound card is upscaling it.

  • this is useless because Youtube only does stereo channels

  • @gumberly Youtube supports up to 7.1ch surround now. Though the video usually has to be in 480p or above. 360p and 240p are usually stereo quality because those resolutions are for saving bandwidth on a slow connection. So you are right in this scenario, or should be (I'm not certain about 360p audio) but Youtube can support much better than stereo.

  • But the back speakers are both going at the same time. So when the back right one is going off, so is the left. And vice versa.

  • Hmm strange. I can hear all the channels being separated but the sub isn't going off. Usually it's the back speakers that don't work. lol

  • it works for me, and i have a 5.1 surround sound system hooked up to my macbook

  • youtube supports 2.0 only

  • Youtube does NOT support 5.1 so... useless

  • the rear left and rear right works for me using 2 speakers

  • im just using 2 speakers sounds like 5.1

  • Does not wor

  • me system is better

  • TY DUDE :))

  • front right speaker doesnt make a sound for me :(

  • It works for me!

  • youtube doesnt have 5.1 :S

  • @OXJ03l Thats Wrong Youtube.com Supports 5.1 and 7.1 percetly.

I was testing this with my own 7.1 Soundcard

  • @Cheat1995 It does't work for most people actually. They'll hear the front properly, including center [but not subwoofer] but they wont hear the back at all on all youtube videos. I'm no tech expert but I believe it's due to how some sound cards and speaker systems work. The only REAL way to test surround on your system is through video games MADE to support 5.1/7.1, or on a dvd/bluray [or pirated version with proper codecs]. my stem works fine in games but not on the tests it came with lol...

  • Here is some audio info for this video. It's not 5.1

    Bit rate mode: Variable

    Bit rate: 96.0 Kbps

    Maximum bit rate: 199 Kbps

    Channel(s): 2 channels

    Channel positions: Front: L R

    Sampling rate: 44.1 KHz

  • @MCCENTx2 you can download the vob file in dolby digital 5.1 from demolandia . net

  • @MCCENTx2 that sucks. i want my money back.
