That is my alltime favorite snake (kingsnake). I have a Sinaloan Milk and she is about 5 years old and nowhere near that size. Do u think i should move up to a bigger cage or do they just bigger with age instead of grow into their tanks. SHes in a 10 or 15 gallon tank now. and only about 2 1/2 feet long

Furthermore, how do we know the owners didn't REMOVE the extra 'toys' from the cage? Many people remove them at feeding time.

Some exotic venoms will paralyze a King snake. Feeding a King snake live food is also dangerous for the snake as it can be injured. They have been known to be killed from rodent bites. I had an Albino King that I only fed prekilled mice. It's not only safer, it's more humaine.

i agree and disagree with daniel... i do not believe that this is "animal cruelty" just the circle of life the king snake had no problem eating the blow snake, it was not a fight to the death or anything. but you do indeed need a bigger vivarium and more places for the snake to hide... and cleaning the tank wouldn't hurt.

That is my alltime favorite snake (kingsnake). I have a Sinaloan Milk and she is about 5 years old and nowhere near that size. Do u think i should move up to a bigger cage or do they just bigger with age instead of grow into their tanks. SHes in a 10 or 15 gallon tank now. and only about 2 1/2 feet long

Theres no need to put your own snake at risk of injury and kill another snake in the process and plus they only eat other snakes after a conflict. sorry. you are only partially right. Other Snakes are aprt of the King Snakes diet. period. they dont only eat them after conflict. they eat them for food. yes they can eat other things like mice. but that doesn't mean that other snakes aren't apart of their diet.

@danielcooke19 FYI.....Kingsnakes NATURALLY eat snakes in the wild. They are actually one of the few predators that can kill a rattlesnake and they are immune to certain venoms. THEY ARE MADE TO DO THIS! What is wrong with giving the snake a varied diet which they would eat in the wild anyway? How is this different from feeding snakes helpless mice who have no chance? Furthermore, how do we know the owners didn't REMOVE the extra 'toys' from the cage? Many people remove them at feeding time.

All venom? So very wrong. Much like a Mongoose, a King snake is only immune to certain types of venom that don't attach to it's blood cells. Not all snakes have the same type of venom. Some exotic venoms will paralyze a King snake. Feeding a King snake live food is also dangerous for the snake as it can be injured. They have been known to be killed from rodent bites. I had an Albino King that I only fed prekilled mice. It's not only safer, it's more humaine.

True. King snake mortality rate s lower in the wild because it can die from parasitic infections. Some of these morons here don't seem to know much about this snakes natural habitat or lifestyle. A King snake's main diet is rodents. Maybe if this guy continues to feed his snake other snakes taken from the wild he'll learn the hard way as to why INFORMED snake owners use feeder stock. You mean a higher mortality in the wild from parasites? It shows just how adaptive kingsnakes are as they cover quite a variety of landscapes from mountains,deserts,coasts and woodlands and their diets are just as adaptive from mammals to reptiles. They're not choosy just born survivors!

Typo. I meant to say "isn't" lower. Adaptive doesn't mean taking a California Kingsnake and moving to to a different climate inhabited by a different species of Kingsnake and expecting it to survive. Cold blooded animals don't adapt nearly as well as warm blooded animals and their diets need to be common to their habitat.

mostly because the king snake DOES eat other snakes as apart of it's diet. think of it more as an oppotunist. if it comes across a small rodent, and it's hungry, it'll eat the rodent. if it comes across a snake that it can kill and eat, it will, indeed, kill and eat it. so i wouldn't say for sure that this video is "animal cruelty." im just saying.
