However what I know is from military sources, (instructors from the Air Force Colonels. The F-22 is the most advance fighter we have and only the Air Force has them. The Marine Corps (my branch) will be purchasing the F-35 in the next 14 years, the Navy in the next 5. The F-22 will be redeveloped into a new plane, our Panther Tank.

F117 uses a different set of stealth philosophies. It uses hard angles to to reflect radar away from the receiver. The philosophy didnt work and ended up getting shot down. All f117s are now retired. The J20 appears to adopt a different set of a philosophies, so I dont think the two are remotely related.

If you clean and maintain them they fire every time you pull the trigger. In 12 years in the US Army the only malfunction I ever had was in BCT with the M16A1.

come on guys... one look at the J-20, i am sure it is not really stealthy.. from the wing's formation and design.. the overall radar cross section does not even appear as small as a small metal ball in radar vision..
aside from thrust vectoring.. J-20 does not have thrust vectoring engines at all.. look at F-22's.. F-35 don't even need thrust vectoring because it uses DAS to target enemies from 360 degree of the plane...

It's just a prototype, and is still 5-7 years away from induction into the PLAF I'm certain that combat systems like DAS won't be exclusive to the F-35. The Russians for example, have had a lot of years playing around with IRST, and other electro optic detection sensors than we have. I have no doubt the Chinese are not far behind. They are more concerned with the engines at this time.
I can already tell it has no thrust vectoring, and it looks like its going to smash to pieces in the air. Its incomparable to the PAK-FA, F-35a/b/c and the FA/22.

@pprocon fuel is Depend on missions, if it's short range less fuel will be carried, if it's long range some fuel will be consumed before reached the battle field.
Takeoff looks a bit slow and clumsy. The plane struggles for some time to get enough uplift to get airborne. Maybe the pilot wasn't using full thrust, or the engines in this prototype are just a bit to weak for its weight. Still, it flies.
I don't think that's the latest plane of China and the stealthiest one.The Chinese Republic wouldn't show off their newest ones.

@WertzOne. The F in F35 stands for fighter. If it was a bobmer it would be. B35 for obviouse reasons. Its a long range air supioriority fighter much like the F22

@M3fanatic462 F35 is actually both. compared to the F22, the F35 has much more Air to Ground weaponry. also, since it's a firth generation fighter, it's role is not supposed to be as rigid. Fifth generation aircraft often has multi-role in mind when designing

Look at M4 and AK47.
M4 looks so awesome. Especially in games.
Other modern USA assault rifles look awesome too. (I'm not sure why, but Scar is the most awesome for me)
But we all know that AK47 is more reliable than any USA assault rifle . Modernized Kalashnikov assault riles, like Zastava M21, are even better.

@DesertFoxKG i agree in the end it goes down to training and spirit...the same men who use M4s in iraq used AK-47s to deadly effeciency....the AK-47 is here to stay for at least a 100 years more[an indian officer says so]...cus the calibre is good and AP rounds crak almost any amount of body armour...that is a prob nato units face in afghanistan and the us faced in iraq...there is a limit to the amount of armour a trooper can wear.

@DesertFoxKG As owner of both an AKM and an M16 I'll take the M16 to combat with me any day over my AK. AKM will accurately hit targets out to 159 meters and my M16 will accurately engage targets at 600 meters. Junk is junk. M4 and M16 being unreliable is a myth. If you clean and maintain them they fire every time you pull the trigger. In 12 years in the US Army the only malfunction I ever had was in BCT with the M16A1.

For those who think Craptor can defeat this thing, just to mention you this one is likely to be a early prototype and its likely in early test fly. You don't to super tricky things and test super tricky parts such as victor thrusts with early prototypes in their early fly.

come on guys... one look at the J-20, i am sure it is not really stealthy.. from the wing's formation and design.. the overall radar cross section does not even appear as small as a small metal ball in radar vision..
aside from thrust vectoring.. J-20 does not have thrust vectoring engines at all.. look at F-22's.. F-35 don't even need thrust vectoring because it uses DAS to target enemies from 360 degree of the plane...
J-20 is a stealth plane but the cockpit is a 3rd gen cock pit

@F35JSFA1 I'm no aeronautical engineer but what makes you believe this is the final version of this plane? It's just a prototype, and is still 5-7 years away from induction into the PLAF I'm certain that combat systems like DAS won't be exclusive to the F-35. The Russians for example, have had a lot of years playing around with IRST, and other electro optic detection sensors than we have. I have no doubt the Chinese are not far behind. They are more concerned with the engines at this time.

They reversed enginneer some Tamiya models & put 2 jet engines & see if it can fly.
That 2 jet engines will spoilt it's stealth properties. Somebody pls tell them about this.

I can already tell it has no thrust vectoring, and it looks like its going to smash to pieces in the air. Its incomparable to the PAK-FA, F-35a/b/c and the FA/22.

@Phulesmith larger plane can fly longer cuz it carry more fuel, but performance such as speed n agility is not as good as small ones. thats why long-distance bomber like B-52 are usually much larger.

@pprocon fuel is Depend on missions, if it's short range less fuel will be carried, if it's long range some fuel will be consumed before reached the battle field.

Takeoff looks a bit slow and clumsy. The plane struggles for some time to get enough uplift to get airborne. Maybe the pilot wasn't using full thrust, or the engines in this prototype are just a bit to weak for its weight. Still, it flies.
