I have a 49 F-6 Ford from Webster, Mass that was their brush truck, nice running flat head v-8 with only 28,000 miles on it and a 56 F-6 Ford from Thompson ,Ct. not running yet but turns over 1,000 gal tank, midship pump w/ 20,000 miles
The Sutton Fire Dept is in need of some parts for our 1920 seagrave we need a camshaft ours broke do you know of anyone with this part we are doing fund raisers to pay for it. great viedo.
I seem to remember the timing on your engine was off Iin retrospect maybe because the lobes were worn out) having any luck? You're probably going to have to have it machined, but have to spoken with anybody for parts?
My Fire Department once owned a Waterous Horse drawn gasoline pump like the one to the left of your Seagrave, is it from Pennsylvania, or does it have the Name "Dauntless Fire Co" on it ? the Seagrave sounds great!
I guess it's pretty bizzare then huh? I've never seen a bronze block before, other than that one engine... (Maybe it's some special model, or not a Seagrave engine at all?)

@john6218att those "newer" hand crank designs have one way keys that will not allow it to kick back.

nice truck. we got a 1920 seagrave on our dept. strictly a parade piece now, though technically it isn't out of service.

@pastchief22 Neither. For a video of it operating, it is among the 150 videos I posted under Railnwings

can you also do a video of the fire engine at the right side of this video ?

@TheUban123 I will after it is fully assembled. As it is now, it needs an engine.

Does this Seagrave have a bronze engine block?
hardtackjack 2 years ago
No. The cylinders are made of castiron
railnwings 2 years ago
Just curious. My dad's department has a grey 1916 Seagrave with a very large straight 4 with a bronze engine block.
hardtackjack 2 years ago
I spoke with the owner of the Seagrave in the video and he has never heard of a bronze block.

What other trucks are in the shop? There appears to be interesting collection of antique fire engines?
