Check it out! I just did it on a sentry safe 1100 series, the lock is simple t pick, involves 1 paperclip with a tiny bump on the end to hit the pins, and a small utensil to turn the lock counter clockwise (while you use the paperclip with the bump, up, and in and out motion. I went to the tool box to grab a different tool, and came back and noticed i already unlocked it with just the paper clip. VERY EASY, When opened to close just turn the lock clockwise, it should auto lock. Easy Done people!
lmao, find a skinny knife with teeth all the ay to the end, put it into the lock thing teeth down, work it a little not to much pressure, if done right you can hear the teeth interact with the locks and walla. turn and open
I don't know if it is any good for protecting things from fire either. All you have to do to open it is stick a key in the hole even part way. Wiggle it back and forth and try to open the lid while doing this!
This is the only post I have ever commented on but my passport was stuck in this thing... I just moved so i was ransacking boxes and no key. I literally used the tip of a knife. Only the 1st quarter inch and a little pressure. No picking required. I shouldve tried that first. Anyway, dont fret, get a pocket knife. Goodluck
they dont even protect against fire! it doesnt keep the inside cool i put one in a fire with paper and a shitty silver ring in it and the paper came out black beacuse the temp raised so high and it is not air tight so fire can enter at will!
Why are you even bothering with those tools? On those 1100s, all you have to do is slide any flat tool, knife blade, kitchen knife in between the lid and the box and move the locking arm SLIGHTLY (maybe an 1/8") and the lid will open! That only takes 1/2 second.
I don't understand why people don't just read the information on the box. Sentry's website provides descriptions: they're secure from fire, not thieves.
"Security Box
Compact and versatile, Sentry®Safe Fire-Safe® Chests are the most popular in the world. A key-lock provides privacy in daily use and prevents the lid from opening in the event of a fire. For a modest, one-time investment, a family's most important papers are protected from the average house fire 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week. "
I'm sure everyone knows this. Well, I take that back, because it seems everyone wants to know how to do it, haha. 14000 views, probably all by little kids trying to get into mom's fire safe.
Did I say it was? No, it is a terrible lock for security. The 4 bit version they make is just as easy to rake. I use an saw rake and 2 tension wrenches. Takes max 2 minutes (1250) Why does everyone need to spam this with comments like "Uhhhhhh, I have no brain" There is no need. Thanks
Yes I know, I've mentioned it many times. It's not a big deal at all. Any sentry safe, even the ones that are meant for secuirty but are cheap at walmart are pickble quite easily. I have a sentry with a 4 bitted keyway and I can rake it open in under 3 minutes with 2 tension wrenches.
I totally agree with you. I'm just saying if you had those intentions, why not just walk away with it? lol I've left many comments on these lock pick pages. On one about a kensington lock on PC I said "Get a job and buy your own PC instead of spending all your time trying to pick the lock off of one and stealing it"
no what you do is put SOME pressure on the lock clockwise/counterclockwise and try to push all the pins up. message me if you have anymore questions :)
i agree with you completely. but with knowing something like this, you have to stop & think... 'what will i do with this?' its up to you to make a rational choice. anyway, nice vid! i can get into one that i have using JUST the tension wrench. 5*'s :D
The Sentry plastic (1100 series) safes are designed mainly to protect valuables (documents, passports, checkbooks, etc.) from fire damage. The small lock is meant only for personal privacy to keep children or visitors from opening them. SentrySafe does have much larger and harder to 'crack' safes. Let's see a video of someone breaking into those (large steel electronic and combination safes, for instance). -winger

After not finding any recall info, I threw mine out! You don't need fancy or professional locksmith tools to get this one open!

Yep. Its not a very challenging lock. The lock is basically just so it stays shut during a fire.
