I grew up near a black neighborhood and was hated by the black community for merely being white. Had a black housemate once who held that view. He told me being white I was "groomed for power" despite hardly knowing me. I was a parking attendant with no degree. He earned more than me as a fitness coach. In his tortured mind however, even a homeless white person "had the power", and a black CEO/attorney/judge/congressperson etc. didn't. I told him abusive power was the common enemy, not my skin. Hopeless to reason he built his wall, increasing his own isolation and dis-empowerment.

No free pass to be racist/deny racism! Some think "true racism" is Racism + Power, thus people assume only/mainly white (institutional) can be racists. Institution is perhaps a bad word to use, perhaps "Dominant Culture" or "Dominant Race"... The truth is people are afraid of "other" people or just do not want to be cool even with people that are not their friends/family and this can be based on race, nationality, tastes/culture, age, socio-economic status etc. It's a shame people are so cruel.

so for a black to be a true racist he must first and foremost believe that his race is superior. This is not the case. Whites are the ones so wrapped up in this type of thinking. Also the negative behavior of blacks toward whites is typically a response to the negativeness shown to them either at the moment or a culmination of it over time. Also racism is an unprovoked action whereas the black "racist" action is typically a RE-ACTION. Thus another difference.

They were kidnapped mostly in Great Britain by the British government, after being removed from their ancestral lands during the feudal period. I don't have to prove you wrong. You just are. Every human being, regardless of skin color, is capable of doing horrible (or wonderful) things to others. Why does "race" always have to be such a focus for some people?

Speaking from my own personal experience, I find that the people who have shown racism to me have been those from the African American community. Could it be because I am a multiracial (with African ancestry) Latin immigrant with my own culture from my Latin-Caribbean family here in America and in Central America, with strong European appearance? ...I don't know.

People who say that there's no such thing as racism against whites, have you ever gone to a black neighborhood and tried to get along with them? I grew up near a black neighborhood and was hated by the black community for merely being white. Now I live in a community that's mostly white, but we have a smaller black community within, and everyone gets along and treats people like people and not merely colors.

I am an open-minded person who is not racist and have actually been an activist for human rights for most of my life.I have been given dirty looks,cursed at,given problems at the supermarket with checking out & actually got into one physical fight bc someone thought I would "just take" being bullied because I'm "white."

Hate should never be accepted, period. If you accept blind hate, you can accept almost anything. Race pride is fine as long as it doesn't lead to racial supremacy. Slavery was wrong, but I had nothing to do with it as a 7-12 year old kid. I have 3 close black friends. I put any racist in a bad light, no matter their skin color.
