@yellowcub86 It doesn't, but what would happen if say your prop literally flew off? (Which I know who's prop did that) The parachute is very useful in emergencys.
@tinyman12323 Fly the airplane, just because the prop flys off doesn't mean you should stop flying it, fly the airplane that why when you're learning how to fly they teach you best glide speed.
Looks like a great aircraft for recreation and also to get you where you need to get to in a hurry. Kind of a gas guzzler for a piston aircraft, but looks like a fun aircraft to fly.
@RainbowManification It's really not. It sucks the fuel down in the climb but levels out pretty quickly. Over the course of a 300 mile trip you'll burn less fuel than a 182.
That thing are the spoilers. You can see them in "big" commercial airplanes in a much bigger dimension. This airplane flies so well that it actually needs this device to spoil the air over the wing in order to decrease its speed and descend.
A real airplane doesn't need a parachute...

God, I would love one of these though.

@sciutacca
That is a "speed brake", used for decreasing speed so that the pilot can descend at a desirable rate.

For that price I could start a charter with a few 172's, decisions...

How about retractable landing gear. If I'm spending 600k on a plane, I want RG.

@OI8APC2 you'll pay for that in insurance and check the cost of a mooney.

Working on my pilots license currently. Would love to own one of these. The only question I have is how do I come up the $600,000.

@sciutacca
these things are called speed breaks or spoilers and let the aircraft decelerate
BlueBallroom 2 years ago
@sciutacca That would be called a speed brake. It is used to lose and or slow down the aircraft.
