A girl of so many rare qualities! And RARE qualities they were. It was her fire and music that drew me in like a moth to a flame. Bette Davis will ALWAYS be the queen mother in Hollywood.
Thank you for watching my video! It's very nice to know it still gets new viewers and is enjoyable. I have to disagree; I think Bette was a genius. ;)
It is in keeping with the theme of this movie, BD's strength and sharp awareness, that you captured every key moment, that is, zeroing right in on that instant when she zinged Eve and stunned everybody watching !!
I appreciate your comments very much! My process for creating videos starts either with a film or a song, and then I try to select the best moments to illustrate the feeling I originally got from the film. Sometimes it is the song that determines what clips I'm going to use, but in this case it was more Bette's performance and some of those delicious moments she had on screen.
OH WOW! This was fantastic and I think the music really captured the AWESOMENESS of Margo Channing! One of my op 5 favourite films of all time! It's almost perfection! You've done a really great job! I'm gonna go watch the movie again! LOVE the great Bette! Straight into my favourites it goes! :) Thank you!
Thank you very much! I really should make a new video for this. I've been hunting for the right song that would fit the story really well, but so far I haven't come upon a perfect one. I never get tired of this film, it's just perfection!
Nina Simone is the Grande Dame truly befitting Ms. Margo. Please research her and her legacy.. AmidTheFallingSnow, kudos, that was a keen combination...
This was perfect, the best tribute to Margo Channing the best character ever seen on sreen, by the magnificent Bette Davis! The song was perfect too! Well done!!!!!!!!
Oh thank you very much! I'm very glad you enjoyed it. I feel like watching the film again, it's been a while. Margo Channing is such a great and complicated character...just the way I like them. ;)
I love your take on Margo Channing(Bette Davis)....an innocent victim to the rat that chewed it from under her footsteps...Eve (Anne Baxter). On the subject of Eve, I quote Joan Crawford( no offense to Bette or her fans): "There is a word used for [a] [woman] like you, high society doesn't find it fashionable, outside of a kennel."
Thanks so much for watching my video! I'm very glad it was enjoyable. You know, finding a suitable song for this brilliant film turned out to be harder than I thought (I'm still trying to think of another one hehe). That quote is very apt for Eve's character even if we know who it was originally directed at. ;)
That Joan Crawford quote was actually a line from a film she appeared in called "The Women". She played a bitch in it and I think, if memory serves, it was directed at Norma Sheera's character. It was never directed at Bette Davis. I assume you thought it was. Haha! But I LOVE the rivalry between Joan and Bette! What wonderful bitchiness! :)
Oh yes, I actually found out about this a while ago! Silly me, I had somehow got the impression it was originally said about Bette. Well, it could have been, I guess, knowing some of the other comments they had about each other. My bad haha. ;)
PARANOIC!?!!?

Great video. You should do one of Addison DeWitt set to Marilyn Manson's cover of Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This.

Sorry you feel that way. I personally love this song. Perhaps the lyrics didn't perfectly match the story, but I decided to take some liberties.
