someone remarked he should hang it up because he can't do vocally what he could20-30 years ago. i just saw him for the 1st time Thu Sept 8th, 2011 at Blossom Music Center in Ohio. It was an outdoor amphitheatre and we had lawn seats. I was thinking it wouldn't be the best venue to showcase his talents. But THE SHOW WAS AMAZING. Yes his voice can't do what it once was, but he has compensated in other ways. So glad to FINALLY get to see him perform.

@shamanpj I'm waiting for the day to be able to see Elton in concert as well.. It's true how he does not have the vocal capacity to hit the high notes he once has, but like you said, he compensates so well with hitting a completely different pitch in a song where he would otherwise have to sing it very high. Elton is, in my books, one of THE greatest pianists still walking this planet gracefully today.
