@tatekylie In my ballet school, the pointe class is 11+. It is most likely to be ok, but if you are unsure maybe talk to other people on pointe or the people who are fitting your shoes:)

Ps: I am also 11 but i will have to go on pointe at 14 as i am a late starter :)

@majorcritic416 Don't worry you will get there- robbie went off after this for a while when she switched studios- it's really no rush ;) When she switched she only had about 20 minutes a week. It was probably a good thing.

It's just a fitting I don't know why everyone freaks out about the very minimal up on pointe on the carpet. Even the expert we saw couple years after this had her on carpet. I don't think it's that big of a deal. yah?

Wow, the people they got fitted with were fantastic and knew so much! o.o

For me they ended up giving me rubbish pointe shoes for my feet, horrible sewing advice and didn't even mention padding. I went to the same place a second time to try something different but it was all the same....found another place where they fit me fantastically and I also discovered padding but because I was used to it I use it if I have an audition or infection now. Wish there were more people like that here....

what are the best shoes for a 14 year old going on to pointe with egytion taperd feet i wont need any spacers and i will be wearing gel toe pads and fairly inexpensive prob i bit wide too ??/ any suggestions

@miss76suger hard to say - is there a good place by you to get fitted? Brigitte has tapered toes I think she has grishko 2007. decent price. Toe spacers are good just for distributing weight and aligning joints or something like that ;) sorry don't know exactly how to explain it.

I added the video to my favorite. My second pair of pointe shoes( the ones I have now) are Bloch Balance European's and I love them. Wow that did take a long time to fit the first pointe shoe. I was very simple lol, my first pointe shoes fitting took about 35 minutes tops, but we didnt have lessons on sewing( my friend showed me how to sew it) and I only tried on 2 pairs!!! Haha... the girl with blonde hair looks familar... can you please tell me her first name only! Thanx... great video!!

which shoes did the girl on the right end up with? did she need the one that was ordered for her? im just asking because i have the same type of feet. i have wide feet. but i also have long feet with an extra toes space in between my big toe and second toe..... im just wondering what kind and size they were... please respond thanks. madelynn

I think she ended up with the grishkos not the pair on order. They both got the grishko I'm pretty sure. Robbie are elite and brigittes are probably a diff style since they have diff feet. I'll ask.

Its not always age that determines when a girl goes on Pointe. Its the development of the ankle and feet and the number of years in ballet.

hmm i dont like sowing an X shape with elastic cuz then the shoe would look like thers too many ribbons and it doesnt look pretty at all...and anyway one elastic is enough support ive been doing it all along

some people do it because they have a narrow heel and it helps keep the shoe on better

not everyone's feet are the same...just because you dont need two doesnt mean that someone else doesn't...thats like saying everyone should use the same brand of pointe shoes
