Never knew that she sang that "I Who Have Nothing" with Luther, never knew her name. It was messed up that they used a prettier girl to front for her. I mean, I didn't really know (didn't really care at the time), but I kinda knew that the girl that they singing in the video didn't have pipes like this. Still, this was a song that we danced to, so I didn't really care. And, I never knew she was the one that sang with Luther:)

She lowered the key on this track many years ago but has been working with the same track for a long time. I saw an article about her that cited quotes from her about the C&C session work and how hard it was on her voice to hit the notes of the original. Her register never was THAT high, and has lowered over the years. No matter..she pulled it off back then and is still kickin ass today. I can't think of another singer that could've delivered the songs she made into hits with her pipes.
She great but I think she can´t hit those high notes anymore,everytime I see her now singing this song she sings the"Everybody dance now" in a lower key. but still good.

Because she got so fat she does not have enough breath left to catch her breath. All that weight does affect your ability to perform.
