  • He is teaching to power clean wrong. You dont pull with your arms, you never pull with your arms. When you pull, you lose power.

  • @kidriot i can see what you mean but its actually all one movement in that section. the arms will pull some. he failed to mention that but the power clean can be broken down into 3 steps. 1. explosive shrug(towards the top the arms are allowed to pull and control the weight) 2. drop under the weight 3. stand up.

  • In my team they taught a different way to powerclean that involves us getting lower than when we started the powerclean then squating up and the agility ladders we changed them and raised them up and you can notice any mistake and it makes it harder to do and fall

  • This video is wack man. Honestly those are the first drills you learn in football. Where is the good stuff? Please the dude who is doing the training is slow as molasses. Darrell Green training is far better. Also the other videos are better as well.

  • that powerclean form is nasty...your not supposed to lift it up with ur arms, instead u rip it off the floor as explosively as possible, and pull the bar up as hard as you can shrugging it up with ur traps/ upper back...then dropping under it - way more powerfull than raising it with ur arms, plus that would put unecessary stress on ur shoulders

  • thats because maxes except for power clean dont involve pulling with your arms at all. bench, and incline, are pushing and squat is pushing with your legs. football teams dont max on pulling exercises.

He is pulling with his arms but the bar is suppose to be forced up with a combination of explosion up onto the toes and a shrug motion with the shoulders and then as the bar travels up your body you snap your elbows under the bar but dude is pulling the whole thing with all arms

  • actually that is the wrong technique for PC, you need to start at a 90 degree angle at the legs, explode up and turn it into an upright row at the arms, then drop underneath and lift with the legs. It is a lower body exercise and needs to use mostly the lower body to lift it.

  • The demonstration of the power clean in this video is very good. Most young athletes do not sink the hips when the bar is raised past the waist line. What could have been stressed is the use of leg drive in the first part of the power clean. Too many young athletes want to get their arms involved when raising the bar off the floor.

  • Try to at least learn the proper powerclean before teaching it to others!!
