  • my new favorite youtube video thanks

  • who much are both these cars worth

  • sick

  • that is a nice one!

we have also a cobra on us channel!

    dutchcarshots

  • Shelby Cobra <3

  • That red one is SCARY

  • amo este auto es la mas hermosa creación del hombre

  • Probably the best car ever.

The red one should be repainted.

  • those are the coolest cars ever

  • My fantasy sportscar... when I hit the Powerball. I saw one of these up close at Tasca Ford in E. Providence, RI in 1966... what a thrill.

The car is an absolute BEAST... the fiercest sportscar I've ever seen and heard.

  • Awesome

  • @a0522625 Could not agree more with you! Sometimes I think I was born too late (1976). These cars just seem to come from an era I missed out on. Yeah these cars are still here thank God, but I would have loved to be my age now when they were new.

  • @ warger92: it reminds people of an era where the middle class could race in the same category as the elite, and it marked the dawning of the ages for the Supercars! where the Idea of designing a car was the same as designing a coke bottle, everything was influenced by sex appeal of a curvaceous supermodel, speed and living in freedom. It doesn't matter how modified a honda Crx is, It will never be as legendary as a car Produced from that era!

  • @ warger92: I have no problems with Honda's, they are great Economy cars and make great little hot hatches, but the fact is that they aren't racing cars, no matter how badly you want them to be, they are just that hot hatches. Why are cobras so Expensive, exclusivity, only 21 Fc's and 27 Sc's were built, for racing in the 60's, there where hundreds of original street legal cars but they still fetch for high prices because they bring people back to an era of memories...

  • @ warger92: the ford reproduction replicas can be build for bugets around $30 000 mid end - 50,000 High end for cars that have way more race proven potential pedegree, are state legal, are certifyable, and pass all the legal liscencing laws. Unlike a honda these cars have a linked racing history, can be tuned to amazingly high figures and run for hundreds of thousands of miles doing so, because they were originally purpose built.

  • If you built the car in this manner it would have cost you $24,800 just in modifications. this does not include the price of the car that you would have originally bought, it wouldn't be allowed to be driven legally on the streets nor would you be able to legally insure it, It would weigh much more then a cobra, and it wouldn't have anymore potential speed. Ford Factory Reproductions has joined up with factory five, giving them the specs to build almost exact replicas....

  • @Warger 92: it is very simple to compare and your numbers are very wrong. First off an original cobra in that condition can run anywhere from 500 000 to 5 mil ( Highest selling cobra). Secondly, This car was a 4 speed built in 1964 msrp at that time was $7000.00, it had 500 naturally aspirated hp + in its original configuration and weighed under 2000 Lbs having a max speed of 185Mph...

  • @warger 92: for now will assume that you have the 1991 Honda Crx 1.6L version of the Crx vtech... when it was produced in 1991 it had a peak engine horsepower of 150 at 5000 Rpm's vs the cobra stable horsepower of 500 wheel hp at 6000 Rpm's. Secondly lets imagine that after $10,000 of modifications your Honda has 500 Ehp/Bhp) It would have to be turbocharged pushing very high boost numbers, and would also have very poor horsepower lag.

  • @warger 92: Ehp/Bhp is very different comparison to wheel horsepower! engine horsepower is measured at the crank and, losses much of it in the output process and by the time it gets to the wheels is maybe 350hp! Bhp is again very different then Whp. Bhp is the horsepower at what the car breaks at near from top speed in comparison to Whp which is the horsepower that the car is able to put to the pavement. again Bhp is estimated to 500 which would maybe acount for 400 wheel hp on a single pull.

  • @warger92: assuming that you have a clear understanding this terminology lets look at how charged aspiration works. a turbo spools compresses air and then after a lag period the compressor forces it in through the intake and into the combustion block. your 500 BHp or EHp will only kick in after each spool. your turbo spools each gear change and you're engine revs really high assume 12000 Rpms. assuming that your turbo is pushing high psi's your lag is going to be high, 3-4 seconds per pull.

  • @ warger 92: assuming that your car has five gears, your lag time would be 3X5 = 15. 15 seconds of time where your car is running at 150 hp maybe 250 300 if the engine is insanely modified. vs a cobra in a launch of 4 gears with 0 seconds of horsepower lag. not only this your car's rear end gears wouldn't be matched up as efficently to the cars engine which would result in maybe a very modest 150 mph at top speed!

  • Lets for a second assume that you built a $10,000 Dart built racing spec honda a 2.0L engine for your car and $4000 spec racing richardson 5 speed transmission, and $2000. in rear end gears, $2000 in suspension upgrades $1500 in rims and tires upgrades, $500.00 in ceramic brake upgrades and

$2000 in air charge equipment $800.00 in exhaust equipment, $2000.00 in frame strengthening adjustments. approximate prices for drift cars. you would have a car that could keep up to a cobra.

  • I have no words........ People should just pull over and park, let these cars own the road, and thank God that they had the opportunity to see one on the road.

  • @GetsumJ Well said! I roll down my windows when I see one coming, even if it's a replica!

  • @engaurd perfect

  • God I would lose my mind if I got to go for a ride in an original Cobra! Such beautiful cars! THAT'S what a race car is, not this V-Tec crap.

  • @throttlewerx cobra 500 hp - $200 000, vtec 500hp $10 000, how can you even compare?

  • @warger92 A 500hp Honda for 10k? I don't think so.

  • drop dead gorgeous

  • shelby's are truly amazing!!

  • I ride bikes. I'm not really all that into cars, but I have always admired Shelby Cobras. To see these and hear about them and their history, is truly majestic

  • I don't think he's gonna let anyone pull out in front of him. It's not that type of driving. You intentionally keep your distance & watch out for people. I know murphys law applies, but you also have to put yourself in the position for it to apply. There are a hand full of these cars on the road here in L.A. The owners aren't driving them down Hollywood Blvd or anything. Come to the La Canada United Artists Theater at about 7am on any given Sat & you'll see a few real cobras. A few nice

  • heh, look right at the end of the video. look how close that black suv thing gets to the back of the blue one and the red car behind that yet. all it takes is the driver of that black suv to be a jackass sending a text. oops. sorry, heres my insurance info. As if that would be any consolation.

  • I've seen him strolling the blue one around town. If you can't drive em', why have em? As long as you are careful, don't do anything stupid & be mindful of your surroundings, people will hear you coming & stay sane around you. Besides, how could you resist taking it out for a drive every so often?

  • @HYDEDB sure, take them out and enjoy them. On track days that is. Put them on a trailer until you get somewhere safe. The thing is, you can be Mr. careful all you want, truth is its almost always the other guy in a situation like that. I have a 94 mustang GT with some loud borla exaust I use for a daily driver all summer. I get pulled out in front of, and a few weeks ago almost run over by an 18 wheeler. I do not get that in my expedition. Try all you want, you cant predict the other guy.

  • A real, original 427 Competition Cobra is going to fetch well over a million dollars on the market right now, and that they are undervalued.

  • first, that guy has a load of money to own 2 of those things. second, wtf is he thinking driving them on a public road in heavy traffic? soccer mom on her cell phone rear ends a rare piece of racing/automotive history- it would be a crime. cars like that, it is good to get them out and enjoy them, like on the vintage racing or a private track or whatever. when you own something that could be in a museum you need to be more responsible about the preservation of the cars.

  • @davenhla this is why I always drive couldn't-care-less-about-them-throw-away-generics: the public roadways are for shit & too many drivers upon them are in even worse shape - well, that & being poor

  • Very impressive. A nice pair of Cobra's for sure. Take care of them....

  • those are like the REAL shelby cobra?!?!?!? and is it true that a real rolling chassis can sell for over $60,000 if its a real rolling chassis and all the numbers match?

  • is there a roof for these bad boys?

  • what do ya need two for lol gimmie one

  • Very nice video. That`s true love.

  • No burnouts required to impress. Thank you for the video.

  • Thanks for the history lesson but I wanted to see BURNOUTS! You sir are a disgrace to everyone.

  • @patchesosnatches i don't think you have a clue of how much even one of those cost. let alone two of them.. if you actually know what a Cora is, then there should be no need to see a burnout, just look, and listen to its beauty.

  • @fordlightning they cost around 50,000

  • @jexus23 maybe a kit car costs 50 grand. originals like this guy clames he has fetch upwards of 700,000

  • Terrific video presentation featuring two outstanding examples of my all-time favorite car. Thank you very much for posting this, Zillis. I recently came across three articles (all about 10 years old now) about the first Daytona Coupe - CSX2287 - and its somewhat murky ownership trail after the car was retired from competition in 1965. If you're interested, they can be e-mailed.

  • Very informative! Great video thanks :)

  • amen!

  • THANKS !

  • OMG... This was my dream car when I was a teenager in the '60's. I closely followed the Ford-Ferrari battles. This was the most exciting time for sports car racing.

A special time... never to be forgotten by folks who appreciate automotive engineering. If I hit the powerball number I may be visiting the owner of these vehicles!

  • I sat in one of these at Tasca Ford in RI in 1966. OMG... I was in heaven! So politically incorrect for our times...BUT I LOVE IT!! This car for many, many years was the fastest 'production' sports car in the world.

  • i saw these at bobs big boy burbank a while back

  • I bet those cars cost an arm, a leg, and a left nut, damn

  • The Blue one didn't happen to come and race in "Aggie-Cross" at Texas World Speedway back in the late 70's did it? TWS is located just South of College Station, Texas.

  • Race Them!!!

  • Anthony has two beautiful cars, both of them are truly fantastic! I still can't get over the CSX 3026 FC red cobra with the Original mag rims. both of the cars shown I bet are worth price-tag wise in excess of $1 000 000, 00. but who cares about the $ and cents value, when you can own a piece of history and drive it too! great video Zillis! I bet you can't wait until the next time you see anthony to go out for a cruise!

  • how much for the blue one

  • nice cars

  • I was fortunate enough to have a cool Mom. When I was 16, I talked her into driving my little sister and I from Ft. Lauderdale to Sebring in the poring rain to see 2 Cobra Roadsters and 1 Daytona Coupe open up a can o' whup-ass on Enzo Ferrari's team. Still one of my fondest childhood memories. You can still see replicas race @ Elkhart Lake, WI in vintage races...and they still give me goosebumps. The body is not quite as SEXY as an XK-E, but they're pretty damn close.

  • Man to be rich... At least I can enjoy the videos.

  • For those of us who will never be able to even sit in one of the greatest cars ever--THANKS. I have a pic from the early 60's when I received a model of the cobra for Christmas, still love the car to this day!

  • Very well narrated by the owner. Hard to justify driving million dollar plus automobiles on the street as an expression of your individual passion when relatively cheap alternatives litter the streets and fundamentally look the same.

Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it immensely.

  • tear inducing beauty and scream-like-a-little-bitch power all in one package lol

  • Its funny how the kit cars never quite look as good...very nice cars, thanks for posting the video...now all I need to do is sell my flat and get one my self :)

  • Driving Miss Daisy

  • The baddest cars....EVER !!!Nothing can and will ever match it!!

  • @harvick2911 wrong mate Porsche spyders do

  • @tomkkkkk lol, the ac cobra is, was, and always will be the baddest of the badasses. its like the dude said, sexy, but the roar of a lion on steroids and a rocket in 0-60. what really makes it a classic is just that, its from the mid-60's... which has more than a couple rockets from that time, I'm sure, but none as spectacularly cool as the ac cobra 427. my dream car, too be sure.

  • @tjstevens74 With all due respect. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and imo a Porsche 550 is the hotter sister of the ac cobra. Now its not to say i wouldnt own a Cobra either but thats just my personal P.O.V!

  • @tomkkkkk Thats the great thing about it. if we all liked the same thing how boring would that be? So even though I disagree with your choice I am glad you prefer the porche.

  • 12 people doesnt know what does it mean: CAR

  • That sound is just incredible!

  • I bought a 427sc in 1969 from a ford dealer in Calif, but it was a bank repo. It kept overheating so I got rid of it, and bought a 1969 Mach 1.

Hine sight is great, if I had only known. I still whine like a baby today!

  • Dear Santa, I've been a very good boy. Wait, I've been a pretty good boy. No, oh hell, I've been a complete ass. Think I can still get the Red Cobra for Christmas? Don't try to drive it, milk and cookie ass, just deliver it.

Yeah, I'll be sure and put extra chocolate chips in your cookies, and I promise, no skim milk.

Just don't forget the Cobra big boy! I do love venison, y'know!

    Thanks, Santa. You're the best,

    RR57

  • @rockinredneck57 lmfaooooooooo omg dude i have not laughed so hard in a long time

  • Car gives me the chills.

  • Bob Holbert was a neighbor of mine at one point. He said the FIA cars were always faster than the 427 cars. Part of the reason for that was the 427 cars were never fully developed. They came at the end of the company. He always believed that had Shelby continued they could have made the 427 cars faster than the FIA cars.

  • @rfn027 Your comment should not be allowed to stand as is. No one will dispute that the 427 makes a lot more power then the 289. Its generally believed that the 289 is faster on most road courses because it is better balanced, but the 289 could not touch the 427 on the straight away. The 427 was King of the street nothing in its day could touch it. The 427's did not do much racing. They were not raced by the factory, When they did race they were in a different class.

  • They are INCREDIBLE!

  • Anthony does check in from time to time. I spoke to him a couple years ago (or was it last year) and he was happy to see the 100k views. Now 282k!

To own 2 full comp 427's and to drive them.... wow. And a great guy to boot.

  • the body alone no paint no motor no nothing just the aluminum body of a shelby cost more than 100k

  • gaywad

  • Two great cars ! especially considering their history

  • how can anyone make such a boring vid with two such exciting iconic cars!!!

  • @pigmysta I have to disagree. This video is anything BUT boring. It's full of interesting facts, specs...You state that they are "two such exciting iconic cars"...Seeing them, hearing a bit about the history of the Cobra, hearing a bit about the history of these two purpose built 427 Cobras and their specifications is (to me) very interesting, if not exciting. ;)

  • @GTRaycer so true. I've already seen this video before. I've actually watched it two or three times already and I am still extremely interested every time I watch it. I love the cobra, and I'm helping my dad build his. He's dropping a side-oiler in his.

  • @thing503 AWESOME! :) I've had a '69 Olds 4-4-2, two '70 Pontiac GTOs, a '68 "Vette, and an '86 Monte Carlo SS...And now my dream car is either a Superformance '65 Cobra replica with a big block, or a Superformance '63 Corvette Grand Sport (Probably with a 556HP Chevy Performance parts LSA engine, like the car the showcased at SEMA) Good luck with your built. :) Post some video when it's done, OK?

  • @GTRaycer definitely. I'm leaving for the Marines, so with me out of the house he should have more time to get it done.

  • Brands hatch is in England

  • Looking for a cobra that was in Arizona back in 1985. Red, Aluminum, Full-Race (16 gauges inside cab, rivet/snaps around cab, toneau cover with zipper opening for driver only, full windshield with full rear-view mirror (stretched from left side to right side,) no stripes, can't remember if it was a 429 or a 289, but it had a cobra snake above the numbers on the side badge. And, last but not least, it had a HEART-Shaped Hood Scoop. Any ideas?

  • I've got a copy of the original repertory of the cobras, coming from AC cars.

CSX 3026 went out of the manufacture the 2.5.1965, with no paint, and black interior.

CSX 3016 went out of the manufacture the 22.1.1965 with no paint, and black interior.

Both are from Shelby los angeles, and that's true, they are full competitions cars.

  • has anyone noticed that all the Cobra kits sit high. I love the ride height of the originals.

  • Amazing cars.....Amazing video....Amazing knowladge....

    Amazing all original...Amazing Sound...Amazing history...

  • Clarification... The coupe I'm refering to is the Shelby Daytona.

  • The 427 is the ultimate roadster. Nothing else even comes close. How rare are the coupes? I don't think I've ever seen one other than on video Or in magazines.

  • Beutifull car classical car two of the most beutifull semi competitions I've ever seen

  • @btrc115

Dude, didn't you listen to the video???

  • my grandpa has an original how much are they worth...its not street leagal in Indiana cuz you cant have side pipes (thats retarded as fuck) i dont know y though

  • Quik!!!! run and get me a tissue!!!

  • Thats my namee (:

  • how much for the blue one

  • Awesome cars. Keep people in scion XBs far away from them please :p

  • Tch! Brands Hatch is a race track in north Kent in England. And those two cars are AC Cobras yanky boy! They were built in England by AC cars whose chassis and aluminium bodys they use.

  • how much

  • Hi Anthony, where did you buy your nice black jacket with the cobra logo on the back? I would really like to get one.

    Thanks,

    Brian

  • @HolbrookBrian

Anthony is not hosting this video. I doubt he monitors the comments. I run into him from time to time, though, so I'll try to get back to you about it.

That is a really cool jacket.

  • I would really like some information on where I could purchase that jacket he has on, I searched all over the internet for one and found other ones but nothing close to this one. It is just amazing, so are his 2 Cobra's what a lucky guy.

  • @HolbrookBrian

Custom made Jacket. They are expensive. You have to order it.

  • @HolbrookBrian lol "Anthony where can I get one of those neat jackets" what a stupid asshole

  • Hey Brian, If Zillis hasn't gotten back to you yet, you can find official shelby murchandise, Including the jackets at Carroll Shelby's official website. I'm not a seller or anything like that just an 21 year-old kid that has had an obsession with the car since the age of 7. You may not find the exact jacket, however I sure you will find what you are looking for,

  • @HolbrookBrian go to fordracing apperel man they have it on there and lots of other goodies

  • absolutely wonderfull video.

  • my names shelby :)

  • What is the second heat exchanger that has the piping into the box infront of the radiator? Is that an oil cooler?

  • my neighbor has a white one with blue strips

  • Shelby Cobra. The only car in the world to give me a boner.........

  • How much are they if they were to be sold?

  • @mmxicase you can buy replicas for about 30-60 grand, an original.... between about 500,000-5,000,000

  • The bastard has got two of them!! I envy him....amazing cars!

  • i saw one at my baseball field

  • I want the red one...

  • I had an opportunity to ride in a full comp. Shelby Cobra in Wisconsin. It was AMAZING. I have a bunch of photos, and a few of me in the car. A day I'll never forget.

  • Rare, rare, rare. Oh yah, and... rare.

  • The point of this video was what again? The only thing I see pointed out are bragging rights.

    Nice cars.

  • @mysticmediaprods

    Just celebrating cool cars.

    Braggin' ...I don't know? ...I think it's more of a story.

  • Hey. Beautiful cars. The Cobra is one of my dream cars for sure.

    Are you of Greek descent?

  • I wonder what time and speed these competition cars would do down the 1/4 mile?

What is the weight of the competition cars?

  • @2175Wook Hi Wook ~ don't know about these two specific racers, but the original 289 street Cobra was the first "production" (not race) car with a 10:1 weight/power ratio. That gave it 0-60 times of 6 seconds, which set an industry standard for the day ~ any other cars that quick were race cars or race prepared.

The 427 was capable of 0 to 100 and back to 0 in 12 seconds! Nothing beat it in those days.

The whole game is about power to weight ratio, and a little aerodynamics at top end.

  • Oh, man. This is an orgasm for a Cobra maniac like me. This has been my dream car for 45 years. Delicious noise. Thank you for sharing this!!

  • its really hard to get one never mind two

  • il have the red one! hahaha lovely cars, CHECK OUT MY 1968 SHELBY GT500KR (1 of 3) in ORANGE, SPECIAL PAINT from FACTORY...

  • doubt it

  • kids of today...this is real horsepower be advised

  • @highlife0586

    ...A - ffirmative!

  • @highlife0586

My 98' GT could hang with these ;)

  • I think I just nutted

  • Gimme gimme gimme!!! The most beautiful cars, ever.

  • The first car I drove was a 1962-4 AC Aceca coupe. And a 1948 MG-TC. At the Santa Anna Race track parking lot. The AC later had a 289 put in it. That was a nice first time drive. It was 1964, I was 14. Di Dion Suspension was a little stiff on the AC......

  • WOW! AMAZING CARS! thanks for sharing the specs and history. I glad to see these cobras in the hands of someone who drives them and is enthused by them.

  • This car is a timeless design. I don't care who you are; if you see this car drive by, you will say WOW.

  • well,it`s a matter of taste said dog lickin his own balls.after all there`s no competition referring 24 hour race in le mans.ford was superior...anyone argue about this fact??

  • i've met and spoken to the owner and seen these amazing cars

  • and its interesting that the red one has all of its racing paint chips and nicks on the paint...

  • my grand dad owned one before i was born i think he still has it, but its been years.

  • ENGINE FORD >???????????

  • Shelby and ford pretty much ended cobra production around 67. So what ever the corvette did after that is irrelevant when talking about the cobra. HaHa... The highest price ever paid for an american car was 5.5 million and it was a cobra and I think recently a cobra daytona coupe went for 7 million.....you can look it up. HaHa

  • Ya GM pulled it for political reasons, it was so fast they deemed it dangerous for average drivers. But they are more than double that daytona coupe in value. Due to their rarity.

Its called the mongoose for a reason, look up the Mongoose's favorite meal.

PS the Vette is all american the Cobra cant say that. And the Roger Penske Grandsport is valued at over 20 million you can look that up at Barrett Jackson as well.

  • Actually, I watched that one on Mecham. They had a $7M offer--and said no! Wow!! Not bad for a "used race car" that almost got shoved into the North Sea in '66 rather than pay its freight home!

Love my Vettes and I loved my CSX6000 but the fact is: one was a stock car that was adapted for racing. The other was a race car that was only offered to the public to qualify for racing classes.

  • I dont care if they only offered it to the public so they could race it was still faster than the Cobra. And the scary thing is that is was with a 398 and not their legendary ZL1 427.

Still the GS is worth more and faster and that's all I care you can have your britsh Cobra, I'll take an American Mongoose.

  • @ChuckG92

And to get some money in to continue racing. CSX 6000 same as CSX 4000?

    I have an ERA 427.

  • Same, save for the 6000s aluminum body vs fiberglass. Like the ERAs a lot, just lack the time to build. Very faithful. Had to buy a roller & just dropped in an aluminum 454 FE (stroked 427).

Isn't it fun having first-hand knowledge of what you're talking about?? Your pen pal here probably drives a Civic with a wing.

  • how can you say british cobra when its powered by ford? your embarassing yourself

  • cause it's a british car, they were AC Aces before they were AC/Shelby Cobras

  • thats bs that gm hd it first and you know it and the chebly is all american built just has euopean style

  • The bodies were built by AC; thats a British company... it has european style cause it was originally a European car

  • The Cobra Daytona Coupe went for $7.25 million in August 2009. That's the new record holder. It sold at the 1st Mecum auction held in Monterey, and Bob Boundurant and Peter Brock were both there to watch it sell. I was able to get their autographs! Every car guy needs to be in Monterey during the second week of August. It's the biggest car week in the entire US.

  • yeah but it still beats the new corvettes so go Ford

  • you gotta be same kind of ac and gt40 freak as i am

  • yeah i love these old cars dont have one yet but im working on it these are the best i dont know a whole lot about them but i like them

  • Got news: The Grand Sport was in '63--before the 427 Cobra and before the Daytona Coupes. GM pulled the plug long before anyone really knew what the half-dozen GS Vettes could do.

  • @ChuckG92

I was going to comment on greendudes original post the other day but I see a lot of people had the same idea as me. whats he about 14(lol)

  • I could care less if it's 2% AMERICAN or 98% from the moon there is nothing GREAT about something being American! That being said the Cobra is beauty and braun beyond measure and the corvette, well......not so much!! We're talking Sophia Loren(the Cobra) vs.The Family Guy with muscles(your corvette). I'll take Sophia and you can sit on cinder blocks in your driveway hanging with Mr. Grand Sport plumbers crack.

  • Haha The Corvette it the best selling and most winingest american sports car of all time you can look that up.

Like I said before the 63 Corvette Grandport is faster and more valuable than a Cobra. It is so much faster it was nicknamed the mongoose, watch some discovery channel if you wanna know what a mongoose will do to a cobra.

The Corvette is America's only pure bred sports car that handles euro cars twice its price be proud of that at least.

  • @Greendude33

Watch some Barrett Jackson auctions if you want to know what cobras go for.

  • This car is amzing but most people dont realize that the only thing American about it is the engine and drivetrain.

I'd much rather have a faster ALL AMERICAN 63 Stingray Grandsport which is faster than a Cobra. So much so they nicknamed it the Mongoose, and to anyone here that passed biology knows what a mongoose will do to a cobra.
