  • I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I mean this is an interesting project, but I don't see the point since both games run in the same gameplay mechanics.

  • @PocketAces1796 60 FPS, unlimited resolutions(console version ran at sub-720p) for the DLC quality lighting you couldn't even notice on the console, much improved drifting and controls, no QTEs, stereoscopic 3D support, and a PC version of Sonic Unleashed fun levels.

  • @netknight That would be awesome, but that level is designed for a much slower speed, so it would be hard to control.

  • So theoretically, is it possible to create entire custom levels? As in, an original fangame using the generations engine.

  • @BenPriest888 We haven't been able to import custom geometry/materials yet, but once that's possible, it should be possible. I mean, we've been recreating the whole collision and fixing the object layout data ourseleves. In theory you could start making a collision mesh in any 3D editor you want, export it, and play around. :V

  • Except for that single camera glitch and the lack of random objects to destroy (which don't make any difference), this is a perfect port!

  • My suggestion for the replacement of QTE panels would be to have normal panels where the QTE panels are - these would go down the "fail" path. In front of the panel, but out of Sonic's direct path (IE you'd have to jump in time to reach it), you'd have a rainbow ring which would instead take you through to the 'quicker' route like when you succeed with a QTE.

  • @ggctuk2011 You might have to look to Speed Highway to fix the scene at 0:18 - there's a section there where the lever won't lower unless you've beaten the enemies. It's probably a script difference between Unleashed and Generations.

    All that's left to figure out would be the animations, I guess.

    Have you yet figured out how to make it an addon instead of taking up Green Hill? On Retro I saw one suggestion being that you place custom Event Gates in the White Space. Dunno if that'd work tho.

  • @ggctuk2011 good point, replace it as normal dash panel will do the trick

  • about the Quick Time Event thing, I think you can just add trick panel instead, right?

  • @brianuuuSonic Not that simple as the trick panel would still only take you one place. QTE panels could take you two places, one if you succeed and one if you fail the QTE.

  • If this project ever reaches fruition (which I really hope so), will you change the controls to match that of Unleashed, i.e. the homing attack and boost use the same button?

    he's also using a hex data software to transfer the models and collusion to generations

  • Samothethief i know why lighting isnt working notice how on the mazuri level the platforms you were standing on had shadows from the trees well the lighting only affects meshes from sonic generations thats why sonics lighting is accurate so hope that what im saying give u any sort of clues

  • Now all we need is lighting fixing, camera fixing, and added notifications! Such as press Y when nearing a little gap, though it's not needed

  • SonicxE levels from sonic colours would not be compatible with generations hedgehog engine

    Btw, is there any way the werehog stages would work for Sonic in generations? or are they completely made for the werehog? (Never played unleashed so I don't know)

  • @Boodendorf classic sonic for werehog would probably work in my opinion, but I'm not the maker of this video.

  • @DarkBloodAssa Because they don't have two different paths for failure or success. Well, they do if you boost, but you're always boosting. ;p Perhaps I could add a rainbow ring above tho, so if you time your jump right, you go to the upper path.

  • @samothethief Do it the Seaside Hill way: Trick Pad for success route and Dash Pad for failure route right next to each other. If you can fit them in there, it'll solve that problem.

  • One thing I miss from Unleashed is the insane amount of rings you can get in stages. In Rooftop run day you can get over 1,000 rings.

  • @TailsSena Its just an updated Hedgehog engine, they took some stuff out and added a whole lot into it. Its nuts, looking through it all. D;

  • This is so freaking incredible. I only have the Wii so I just played that version, but I've seen how awesome the other version is and wished someday I could play it. You've potentially made my wish come true and for that I thank you.

  • How come after the checkpoint at 1:48, when he boosts, he's slow and plays the dash animations?

  • @XxSuperShadicxX The rigid bodies aren't set properly yet as ground he's supposed to walk, like floor. That floor you see there is the equivalent of a wall. :V When I figure out what attributes need to be set, it'll be proper floor, with footstep sounds as well.
