This is a Christian organization, and proselytizes by pursuing and converting homeless and poor volunteers to ring bells. Their mission statement clearly is religious in nature, therefore I would not consider such a charitable organization. Russia threw them out because they are an army for christ.

First up buddy - the Salvation Army doesn't have a CEO. You had better check your facts because you would be shocked how much Salvation Army officers/leaders make! You're confusing the Army with the Red Cross. Merry Christmas!

twyn, You are partially correct: I was mistaken about the amount paid to the "commissioner" of the Salvation Army. He and his wife Carol are paid over $64,000.00 and another $34,000.00 for housing. Still, nearly $100,000.00 in compensation is far greater than the amount they pay the people they are asking for money, and certainly greater than the meager amount they pay the people who actually GET the money --- you know, they people freezing their ass off in the cold, ringing a bell.
