  • and on the seventh day god created Star Wars, and saw that it was good.

on the 8th day god got wasted and made phantom menace

Hinsz Orgel Toccata Psalm 146 (Jan Zwart) Bovenkerk Kampen klicken!

  • I just knew the Imperial March would sound best being played on church organ.

  • sounded all muddled togethor i could nto pick out a tune. :(

  • I want my missus to walk in to this song at our wedding.

  • @bidhendy LOL save it for the mother in law. or despised relatives lol but your idea works too. odds are youd be cut off on your wedding night lol

  • The guy standing mext to him is CLEARLY Darth Sidious. He is short and has white hair!!!!

  • Evil, evil church. I feel like millions of voices just screamed all at once and then were silenced.

  • @pemdas927 You're an idiot.

  • @Supermassively I'm sorry that I made a Star Wars reference that you did get.

  • @pemdas927 Yeah, I did get it. Stupid, childish religion-bashing comment. You didn't get it.

  • @Supermassively Hmm. Trying to figure out how it's childish and bashing on religion. The Imperial March was the signal that we were in the presence of evil. That makes as much sense (in my opinion) as playing something by Marilyn Manson, a known aethiest. And actually, I was initially making a joke at how that's something that doesn't seem to be church related. I'm sorry if you have no sense of humor, but I know a good proctologist that can get that stick removed.

  • Very Good Player

  • I don't give a damn that is doesn't sound amazing, and in case you can't tell, there are some people talking which make it sound worse than it is. this is awesome! gives the music the perfect feel

  • i love this lol , i seen the normal elderly woman play it last month there (not the same song) and she had these amazing wee slippers for her feat, i was so tempted to go and jump her just to get them lol !! such a glasgow move !

  • haha look at the old guy he's like wat youre doing

  • I would totaly do that in local chursh if i would know how to play

  • hey kid get off that im suppost to play

  • The force is weak in this one. He knows nothing of the dark side of the force!

  • @qwertyuiop12525 thats why his master ( guy in black) is training him.

  • played way too fast. sounds like a blur. slow it down.

  • This would rock if it was played on my funeral.

  • And Luke asked him, "What is thy name?" And he answered, saying, "My name is Vader: for I am your father."

  • I'm afraid to see the reaction of the people below when he starts playing ESPECIALLY if they've seen the movies... LOL!

  • starts at 0:41 LOVE IT!!!

  • the pope does remind me of Palpentine! :)

  • Pretty powerfull : DD

  • epic

  • I'm pretty sure this is the same organist who plays the organ in Glasgow University, he played this at the Freshers Address in September '09 when the Rector, Chaplains and student union heads came to the front of the main hall. Legendary stuff :) I'm pretty sure he can play the Indiana Jones theme as well.

  • Awesome hahahaha

  • holy shit that's epic.. that organ is HUUUUGE. lol

  • LOL amazing!

  • that sounds so evil on the organs

  • Lol when he start playing The Imperial March the guy in black looks shocked XD

  • personaly i like pianos better than organs but this is very cool

  • I want this played at my funeral

  • @Tareltonlives haha when you take over the hell!!

  • Admiral Ahkbar: It's a trap! The empire has taken over the church!

  • I prefer Harald Fellers transcription of Starwars :) , i saw him in concert during full moon and looked just over his head , that was INSANE

  • In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida would sound cool too on that organ!

In The Garden Of Eden By I.Ron Butterfly.

  • HAHAHAH! OMG thats sooo unfair! when we saw that orgin thing in glasgow he didnt play the impreal march! thats sooooo unfair XO

  • the Pope's favorite song.

  • @tktru pope is sidious

  • @tktru i know its wrong but, invert the pope's colors and give him a hood, who would he be? lol

  • @tktru you just simply don't understand how beautiful this song is on the organ do? i feel sorry for uncultured swine like you. im not with good standing with the church either but at least im being a grownup about it.

  • lol, best comment ever. you win the internet.

  • my lord, this is not a catholic church its an art gallery!!

  • Lol fail on that one brewskee

  • lololol

  • As your 69th 'thumbs up' rater I agree with the reasoning behind your comment :D

    And you win the Internet.

  • You sir, are a man among men.

  • @brewskhee welcome in the world of reality the best way to be neutral is old good antimoral satanism known as anticrism

  • @brewskhee That's not a catholic church — it's Kelvin Hall, a fantastic museum in Glasgow.

  • @shinyplasticbag - Kelvin Hall was the old Glasgow Museum of Transport building, I thought... I don't know, I've never been further North than Manchester, but my dad was brought up in Glasgow (North Kelvinside) and always refers to the GMOT as having been in Kelvin Hall.

  • Your right it's the Kelvingrove Museum. The Kelvin Hall was built as an exhibition and show space and was used as such until the (SECC) Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre was built on clydeside.

After that the building was split into 2 units - the front became an indoor sports arena and the side and rear became a temporary home for the Museum of Transport, from 1987 onwards. The Museum of Transport has also mved to Clydeside and re-opens this year.

  • @shinyplasticbag Kelvingrove art gallery and museum

  • @brewskhee whats that supposed to mean!!??!!

  • Hahahahaha, yyyeesssss!!

  • "Anyone care to hazard a guess as to what the piece he was playing before The Imperial March was? I can't even begin to guess, but I like the sound of it. Hopefully one of you recognizes it. "

That is another part of the "Empire Strikes Back" score.

  • Yeah right at the end when Luke's hand is fixed and Lando leaves to find Han, i think, Leia's theme or something

  • It's Princess Leia's Theme.

  • Before moving to a question, I'll agree with pretty much everyone so far that playing The Imperial March on a massive pipe organ in a museum is just bloody amazing.

Now then. Question time. Anyone care to hazard a guess as to what the piece he was playing before The Imperial March was? I can't even begin to guess, but I like the sound of it. Hopefully one of you recognizes it.

  • it sounds like some sort of prelude for a church service.

You are so right. The IM is so cool on a huge organ

  • yes.. thats how a real evil organ should sound like... wish the clip was better

  • Run in fear Jedi Mormans, the Sith Catholics are here!

  • I have only one thing to sey: That organ IS BIG !

  • not really big, there is many alot bigger than it, some are 5 times as big!

Tis a lovely sound tho, in a lovely acoustic

  • What a great instrument to perform Darth Vaders theme on. That organ is colossal.

  • THAT IS AWESOME

  • its ok i guess

  • star wars in a church ?? !!

  • think about it... best place for the imperial march to be played!

  • sound's evil >:)

  • Cool!

  • I find it hilarious that you believe you're good enough to critisize him, but you can't even spell Amateur.

Go learn some organ, THEN come back.

  • well i actually Know organ because i am the organist of the baptistic church in eastern jerusalem.

btw ithe fact that my english is not so good doesn't mean that i can't critisize people.

  • Why don't you both learn how to spell criticize before you use the word?

  • no, it just means that you can't critize anyone and belive that people will take you seriously.

  • I think jingeshan24 is right about the whole "critisize" thing, although, taking it further and calling the man an "emature" kinda knocks the whole comment to pieces.

To take it so far like how FBIAG3NTwhateverthefuckhisnameis did is well.... buddy your on the internet, what do you want?

  • Ahaha this is pretty creative.

  • if he's gonna play inappropriate music at a museum, he should've at least went all-out and played Super Mario

  • technically it is alright to play theatre pieces and popular music on an organ thats not in a church, it's a museum, is there any reverence that is coupled with a museum, thats like saying you can't play the Wannamaker Organ in Philly because it's in a store...

  • technically...it is alright to play any music you like on any organ (so long as you have the owners permission to use it)

its just an instrument. the fact that most of them are in churches doesn't mean a thing...

  • after a service in my church many years ago, the organist would always play something as people were chatting and leaving, and one time he played something and it sounded fantastic but incredibly evil, everyone was amazed by the music played but enjoyed it nontheless

  • I'd love to have the Imperial March played at my funeral. What better way to leave this world?

  • hell yeah

  • hahah yeah

  • lol, true

  • At 0:49, the guy in blue moving like "The fuck you're playing!?" rofl

  • you mean " what the fuck are you playing?

  • colloquial... But yes

  • That just knocks my dick in the dirt!

  • Daamn . I want to play one of those before I die...

  • its always fun to hear inapropreate music

  • Its always good when someone plays something quite well known at Kelvingrove. There was one organist I heard a while ago who played some brilliant pieces, including the Star Wars main theme if I'm not mistaken.

  • I play Imperial March on my eletric organ and in my church! I love this sound of John Williams! I've got a video on YouTube

  • Glorious!!!

  • Who makes the Organ?

    Who Play the organ?

That's not Wamton's March imperial so who wrote this one?

5 stars for peeking my interest *****

  • John Williams... it's from The Empire Strikes Back

  • Lewis organ builders built this organ, each pipe organ is different, no one of them is the same.

I`m not sure who the organist is, but it could be Duncan Sinclair.

  • The Organist is Maestro Steve Birch from Glasgow.

  • wow!

  • There are performances on the organ between 1 and 1:30 on weekdays and I think Saturdays too. I was there a few weeks ago. What a great sound. The music just follows you round the gallery. Lucky enough that I live in Glasgow :)

  • Wow, new goal in life: Get so much money that I can buy a pipe organ and have someone play dark eerie music like this when I have guests over.

  • a big pipe organ like that whoult cost over 3/4 million pounds and they are huge there bigger that a 3 bedroom house!!!!!!!!

  • You mean that wasn't already on your list of life goals?

  • Hahaha! LOL. You should also save up to buy Prince Dracula's castle, install the pipe organ there, and THEN have it play eerie music for the guests during dinner!!!

  • Do you have the entire Imperial March Recording of this? I would like to hear completely only on pipe organ.

  • Wow. That could give anyone goosebumps! The Imperial March sounds eerie on the organ, I just love this transcription of it! :)

  • i love this organ every time im in the Kelvingrove i just love to stare at it, sad to say iv never heard it played live

  • Not bad, I guess. I'm not much into organs -- I just thought it was funny to hear Star Wars music on such an imposing instrument.

  • It works well though. Try looking up theatre organ in the search bit in youtube, alaot of pope songs and stuff being played on organs that used to be in nearly every theatre or cinema.

  • Thanks. How did you think the organ sounded and felt in the building?

  • It has a good sound as organs go. Not sure if it original to the building. It is a Tracker action. The voicing is suited to the space. Too bad the recording was not more extensive

  • Its original to the building. I live 40 miles from it.

  • Do you know who the organist was?

  • I'm afraid not. I was just visiting the museum that day.

  • Organist is Maestro Steve Birch of Glasgow.

  • When did you take this video?

  • Monday, May 28th.
